Description The Mako-Class is a frigate of the Rothan Intersolar Republic Military designed for light ship-to-ship engagements, troop transport and assault, and fleet protection. This particular class of warship carries an extensive electronic warfare suite in addition to light 60mm flank railguns, a heavy 200mm main gun situated in the bow, and ten guided missile launchers.
Mako-Class vessels carry a small crew of thirty and can accommodate up to fifty armed troops. They may also transport a pair of Predator shuttles and four Rapier starfighters, while the cargo hold may contain up to 500 tonnes of supplies.

Like all Rothan designed starships, the primary engines are located at the extreme rear of the vessel and consist of tubular nacelles holding clustered ionic propulsion unit. The Mako has two groups of seven thrusters, powered by a single aneutronic V-Non reactor. A Dimensional Drive is also installed to allow Underworld and cross-galaxy transit and to supply brief—but potentially lifesaving—kinetic shielding. Large He3 cells supply secondary and emergency power.

The RIV Vulpine was a Mako-Class vessel dispatched by the IRM to investigate a coded distress beacon dispatched from Naxos Station, a mining outpost owned by the Rothan state located in the asteroid belt orbiting Calphous, an ice giant in the Kelitian Iripo (Gliese 581) system, and the source of the ‘Naxos Event’.

Arriving within the star system, the Vulpine dispatched two squads of naval infantry to the station, only to lose contact with both teams as well as the beacon shortly after their arrival. The Vulpine then remained on station in an attempt to re-establish communications and gather additional intelligence before sending more men.

Before this plan could initiate, the Vulpine’s sensor array alerted it to an approaching vessel with a predicated course toward the station, and matched its ION tag with that of an Escean government Dragon shuttle. Under strict orders from central fleet command, the Vulpine engaged the shuttle without advance warning, using the belt as sensory cover to stage an ambush.

Despite the advantage of surprise and greater firepower, the Vulpine was unable to destroy the more agile shuttle, which then engaged the frigate with its own cannon. Sweeping in too close for the vessel to successfully defend, the shuttle also bypassed the effectiveness of the frigate’s armour by firing point-blank into the dorsal hangar covers, causing explosive decompression that dragged loaded starfighters and shuttles into refuelling units and ordnance racks. This in turn triggered multiple catastrophic explosions that stretched back to the engineering compartment, damaging the life support systems and primary power core and causing the reactor to overload and discharge within the vessel, frying the bulk of its electrical systems.

Crippled, the Vulpine managed to dispatch one final signal to IRM Fleet Command before power was lost. Dead in all systems, the frigate quickly drifted into the path of another asteroid, which pulverised it on impact. Signal capture logs later recovered and decrypted uncovered a single word in the Vulpine captain's final transmission: Impossible.

That is the party ship. The party in question ends with a big bang.

Well, in this particular bang, an array of small calibre KAP cannon, about a million degrees worth of antiproton exhaust, and an asteroid all play a part.

Right. Never watched DBZ, so...

In short: Vulpine gets shot, Vulpine gets burned, Vulpine gets pummelled, Vulpine goes bang.
