I thought to ask you about this model, did you use zbrushs render engine/materials for it also? I'm looking for some decent skin solution for maya/mentalray, but haven't really found anything satisfying that doesn't require a lot of testrendering and adjusting also. I'm doing my thesis right now mostly about zbrush and though the sculpted data comes out quite well, it's a lot of layers anyhow to produce to get the proper material feel. Well, I guess I'll delve into that issue further on. Another question about this model was that is this the modelling pose you've used for it? I discussed the issue with a friend of either going by optimal texture space or just optimal for the skeleton rigging, which would be this pose.

I used pieces of photos to create the texture for the skin, but I modeled the character first I did'nt used an actor as reference or anything like that.

hmm.. i am surprise they let you release the model renders before the game...
p.s. u used real photographs for the body texturing correct?...

You sure know your stuff! I'm in awe here at everything from modelling, to texturing, to rendering.
One constructive point (although too late now as the work is done); I think this guy should have a little more hair on his back... Just a tiny bit to match the rest.

i've seen this on z-brush central. it totally rocks. Do you use that tool that sculps based on the image planes?

Tse-10 In reply to mojette [2007-07-26 04:38:00 +0000 UTC]
what that was zbrush 2? wow thats so awesome. So its all from one tool? thats crazy! Can you take a look at my models? my hell hound has like 8 tools each at level 7 or 6 and after alphas i'm up to 80 megs. I'm not quite finished with it yet but I'd like some feed back. I'm a student trying to get into games modeling. I don't even have the low res models built yet but if you can give me any advice about getting a foot in the industry that would be great!

Looking again...maybe a bit more attention could have been paid to his back. I mean, it would have been interesting to see him have a bit of hair back there, as most folks avoid doing that in their textures. Still, it's excellent work.

What programs are you using? Does Z-Brush come into play at all when doing these?

Assasins Creed is one of The games I going to buy this fall...I mean...cmon...it looks amazing! And your 3d work is just amazing...
I have a question...do u have to have a long education to be able to be part of a game...Im gonna go 2 years with 3d design & animation and then one year in england at deakin university. And then If I get the chance join Funcom here in Norway ( the guys behind conan: hyborian adventures ) . How long did u go to school? and how did u get into game-design/character-moddeling etc...
