You do not need to tell me what is going to happen next lmao.
On the afternoon of October 23, 1956, a student demonstration against the government took place outside the Parliament building in the capital of Hungary. It was inspired by similar revolts which took place in Poland a few days before. They requested political change, as their countries were falling apart under Soviet oppression.
Though the protest was peaceful, the State Security Police mistook it as a threat and fired upon the crowd. Revolt broke out and the mass took over the government, declaring its withdrawal from the Warsaw Pact. Any pro-Soviet officials were hunted down and executed. At first, the Soviet Union decided withdraw the military, but they changed their mind and attempted to combat the Hungarian rebels.

This one is awsome. I'm Hungarian and my parents are enough old, they saw 1956 and I think Hungary's expression shows perfectly, that she'll never give up and will fight 'till the end. Thank you, this one really touched my heart.

This is fantastic, I love it! World history has always fascinated me and when I found Hetalia I fell in love! You've explained the Cold War better to me in 10 minutes (of reading) than my teacher did in 4 weeks worth of lessons, lol thanks XD

If you study the history of Poland, you cant help but feel for them. Caught in between Germany and Russia, they were always getting screwed over by someone. Poland won out though, Solidarity!!

I...LOVE...THIS..STORY!!!! It's freaking amazing!!!! I love Russia in it. Instead of his childish self, he is just so.....evil. Like the 'monster' inside him he finally let out and now he's just so awesomely evil!!! And he's so sexy in it. America's freaking badass with his guns though you need to show his idiot side more often XD France was awesome with his surprise entrance. England is just....well a gentleman like he says he is XD China seems just so...submissive to Russia. *Sees a slight RoChu moment in multiple points in the comic. Is a HUGE RoChu fan XD* just LOVE Russia. Uh Oh... Hungary, you're gonna get your ass kicked by Russia with his pipe. *doesn't know a lot about the cold war if I get wrong. am just going back to the Korean war but i wish we can do more to stop the north Korean aggression to day i mean the shot at a south Korean Iland a few months ago peopnle were killed and we did nothing

My grandma grew up in Hungary during this time period, and she said it was hell when the Russians took over. Since Hungary had great soil, when they harvested the crops it would all go to Russia, they had to learn Russian as well and the Hungarians had to pay for their warfare. I like Russia, he is my favorite character, but what he did to my country I will never forgive, so fuck you Russia!! PS I know what happens next, and it settles my bloodlust for Russia

well, the thing is, most of us russians hated communism as much as you did!
my dad once told me "we pretended to work, and they pretended to pay us"
actually, both of my parents lived in communism, and it was absolute hell for them too,
although, you are correct to some extent, communism was profiting the dictators and leaders, but that's about it. the country's economy was worsening, and so on.
i know it was russia's fault, but i feel offended when you say what you said,
my parents had to endure much suffering too.

Im sorry for offending you, I realise that both side did suffer greatly. I just feel that way towards Russia. My grandma had her home taken over twice and Russia made her even poorer than she already was. I understand Russia suffered, but I am sticking up for my Motherland. Sorry to offend you

yeah, well im sticking up for mine,
many people, including my parents were threatened with death for questioning communism, and my parents friend's house was also taken over as a child because her family was rich, then she was made poor, and eventually arrested because she questioned to why the police had taken over her house. communism was a harsh time for most of the world. stalin and lenin both relate to hitler in this way
