Deku still couldn't believe he was lucky enough to get his own wild-caught Ober. When he'd heard the news of his application approval, he quickly called his bestie, Emily, and shared the amazing news with her. After failing to convince her to abandon her responsibility at AVS to travel with him, Deku hastily made plans to go pick up his new mare. He knew he'd miss initial introductions with the new CDS staff, but would make it up to Thienna eventually.

The trip seemed drag by, as time does when one wants it to quicken. Deku tried to fill the time by checking off all his mental lists and making sure he hadn't forgotten anything. He also worried about whether the mare would bond with him; Deku understood Obers were proud animals and they had very strong personalities. He had been successful with his once aggressive Hanoverian, Mammon, but he'd heard stories of some very stubborn and difficult Obers. But Deku, knew no matter the personality he'd give everything he could for his new steed. If he'd tempered Mammon, he would give his all, unconditionally to this new mare.

When Deku finally arrived and was brought to Manchada he could barely contain his excitement. Not only was he surprised by her size and beauty, but she came directly to Deku and gave a warm welcome. The mare nudged his chest with her head until noticing the treat he'd brought and started to gently ask for the apple. Deku knew this was the start of a wonderful bond and gladly gave the sweet mare her treat.
