After Delightfully Refined . Occa and Kim are back at CDS relaxing and enjoying being home. Also...Occa won the RDHS bet...poor Deku going to have a busy next year.

    Occa could have slept the day away if her alarm hadn’t been set. She was exhausted and figured one more snooze couldn’t hurt her productivity for the day, too much. She and Thienna had returned home only two days ago from the Australian Warmblood Trials but Occa was still tired. Not only had this trip worn her out but she and Kim hadn’t had much time to recover after RDHS before that either. Her first day home had been getting Kim settled and appropriately pampered. Occa wanted to make sure with all the traveling and showing that Kim was settled and doted on. Besides personally bathing the mare, Occa had made sure an equestrian acupuncturist and chiropractor had also come to see Kim. No harm in making sure any stress or stiffness was worked out of the horse.
    The second day was for recovering herself. Thienna had declined to go with Occa to the spa yesterday; some excuse of ‘too much work to do’ or some other nonsense. Who didn’t have time to treat herself? Apparently there were some new hired hands coming to CDS in the next month or so and Thienna was getting everything in order for them. Since Deku and Killian would be gone for most of the time next year, Thienna had been looking for some extra help. Killian’s cousins from Texas had been available and willing, which made filling the positions easier for Thienna. Ochacca had enjoyed Killian’s company around CDS and hoped his cousins would be as agreeable. As for Deku, Occa couldn’t be happier! She had won their bet and his ‘agreement’, had he lost, was to volunteer to cross the Continental Divide National Scenic Trail with Killian.
    Thienna had been mentioning growing the adoption/rescue side of CDS recently and that was going to take a decent amount of money. To help the expansion plans, they were going to need some sponsorship and funding. Occa had offered a large amount but Thienna had declined and stated she wanted to try some new ideas for the proposal. One of those ideas was promoting other well-known stables gear and tack while crossing the Continental Divide Trail as social media influencers. The plan specifics were still being finalized, but Occa ultimately got what she wanted. Between the endurance training and actual crossing Deku would be gone from CDS for at least 8 to 10 months of the next year. Almost a whole year without her brother around.
  Her third snooze finally convinced her to get out of bed and start her day. Today was what she was really looking forward to since coming home. She and Kim were going to go on a fun, stress free and bareback ride today. Occa had been training so much with Kim and figured the mare could use a different kind of excursion today. It felt like the Fall had come a little late this year and the foliage had barely started to turn colors but snow had already visited the nearby peaks. It would be a lovely ride today.
