I envy and despise you for your getting to go to Japan and your ability to take such wonderful pictures.
I am sort of interested in photography (though I prefer writing more) but I can never see a good pic when I have one.

I never thought I would get into photography. I ALWAYS wanted to, but I was a sketchy kind of guy. Pencil and paper and I was a happy moo. Now, I can't draw a stick figure, but I can take a decent shot of something.
Pick up a camera and take one day where you just pop everything. You will be suprised at what comes out.
The Japan thing was beautiful. Yes, I got my heart ripped out by my ex, but the memory of Japan is pure. I can't wait to go back again. I am in love with a country. If I can fit you in a suitcase...or in my carry-on, I would love to take ya! lol...actually, for about $600 you can get a round-trip ticket during some months.

My heart aches to go back.
I do have a larger shot, but nothing you can really make out. It was a monument for children I believe. I will see what I have and may upload them as stocks.

It's a wonderful place, isn't it? How long where you there for?
A monument for children? Did there happen to be a lot of little Buddha statues around it, with lots of hats or toys? If you saw those, then it was definitely a monument for children. But if you have any shots that have the whole engraving, I might be able to understand enough to see what it was for.

Yep, it was for children...lots of the little statues around. I was going to take a picture of those, but I didn't want to be disrespectful.
I was there for 2 weeks visiting my ex-fiance.

Everytime I've taken a picture of those little statues, I usually bow in respect before and after taking the shot because I'm always afraid of being disrespectful.
Ooo. 2 weeks is not enough! You need to go back! You have pictures of Kamakura and the Tokyo area, did you get to any other places?

Asakusa is a beautiful place. If you get a chance to go back, I completely recommend Kyoto. And if you get a chance to go to the south, Miyazaki. Absolutely gorgeous!

Osaka is nice. I have some pictures of it actually snowing there, which is a rare occurance. I need to get some of those up. If you're lucky, you can get to Kyoto when the old Imperial Palace has the inner gardens open. They're only open like twice a year for three days each time. So gorgeous inside.

It was on a tomb...I think it is under 50 years old. There were much older monuments around there though. The graveyard is about 300 years old. Maybe more.
