Sorry, i did not spend enough time to read every thing you people said here. I just want to mention something: the whole serial of x-ray flowers are copies from x-ray photos - there are NOT FOR COMMERCIAL PURPOSE, they are done only as an airbrush exercise. Yes, I should ask for permission from the photographers, but I don't pretend the idea is mine, I don't sell the artwork, only share with you here. If this means I stoled something, please come and pick them up from my walls. Will be my pleasure to return them to whom it may belong.

I suspect this piece is what's called a 'derivative' work. It may well be of extraordinary quality, but it is a nigh-direct copy of the aforementioned X-ray photo, and as such, he prolly should've asked the original photographer (which he MAY have done) or at the VERY least, credited him. My

after looking for a long time at both pictures, i think it is derivative. crediting would have been the least, also to avoid possible deletion by the da-admins (FAQ #304: Do you remove copies and trace-over art? ).

He could get in real trouble from the original artist too, because the derivative piece could, indeed, impact the sales of his photo. That's frequently how copyright infringement is judged. Have you told the original guy yet?

It's a painting. I used a projector to transfer the image on paper. And the details in the painting are far away from being the same - my artwork is not so detailed, I'm not so good as an artist, but I'm damn good as a thief.
Sorry to say this, but if you look at the other paintings, somewhere I wrote: "an airbrush exercise" - yes, there is an original x-ray photo I used as reference picture and yes, i didn't ask for permission from the photographer because I did them NOT FOR COMMERCIAL USE and I put them on the walls in my home... from time to time I share them on the Forums as a good airbrush exercise, as I said. If this means to stole something, I agree with you, I'm a thief. I never pretend these are my ideas, my inventions or whatever - it's just my artwork. It's like you try to copy Mona Lisa and you succeed - if you put your result in a personal gallery, that means you stoled Mona Lisa?
