oh god look at all those goddamn hearts. I'M SUCH A FAGGOT.

    ANIMU EVERYWHERE.
ALSO GOOD GOD THIS TOOK TOO GODDAMN LONG.

Everyone was doing it, so I figured I'd give it a go. It was way more fun then I expected, actually.

AND TIME TO EXPLAIN. it'll be way tl;dr but I'll bold the titles if you just wanna know that so you don't have to read all of it. c:

BTW, THESE ARE IN NO ORDER WHATSOEVER. I just put them in random places.

    1) David Mack; the author and artist of the graphic novel series KABUKI. I've only read the first volume, but honest to god it was so inspirational. Reading it really wanted me to become a better artist. Later on I bought some of his... i don't know what it was, actually. Just random things he's drawn thrown into one issue of a comic book, I guess, but I bought it and I was stunned at how beautiful his work is. I look at it whenever I want to be inspired. It's a gorgeous collection of artwork and everything he does is so gorgeous and (as I repeat myself, hurdur redundancy) inspiring. He's definitely an artist that I idolise.

    2) Sailor Moon/Naoko Takeuchi; Of course, Sailor Moon. There is the importance of how I grew up with it as a kid, blah blah, all that jazz. But, to me, it's more than just than a childhood anime, because last year I read the original manga and I absolutely fell in love. Her art style is FANTASTIC and gorgeous and every panel on each page is drawn with such detail and precision it was hard NOT to fall in love. Everything is drawn with such beauty and I love that post-80s, early-90s manga style because it's one of my favorites just in general. She's become one of my art-idols because her style is simply spectacular, not to mention the fact that she created one of my favorite manga/anime series ever.

    3) Doctor Who; Mixin' it up a bit. Not an art influence, nah, but an influence in general. I only recently got into Doctor Who but the show is absolutely brilliant. It will make me laugh until I cry and be so scared I can't sleep at night (or ever look at statues the same again : P). It's FANTASTICALLY written and honestly it's influenced me a lot over the past few months and inspires me to create my own scifi-y comic/cartoon/summat like that. I love it to pieces and it never ceases to amaze me.

    4) Avatar: The Last Airbender; There are no words to describe how much I love this series. It's beautifully drawn, written, and produced. It's my favorite animated show of all time, and it's just absolutely freaking FANTASTIC! Despite the fact that it was a 'children's show' it was so mature and its PLOT WAS JUST SO FREAKIN GOOD. Not to mention characters and character development, and how you could really see them grow and all of that. It's not just inspiring as a piece of art, but as a whole. There was so much effort put into everything in that show, and I AM SO EXCITED FOR KORRA OMG. I could seriously rave about it for hours. It was so inspiring and beautiful and AHHH I should cut myself off before I ramble for too long, haha~~

    5) ~Toonikun ; I love his work. Toonikun has some of the most beautiful work I've seen on deviantart, and his art is just one of the many examples that shows how gorgeous an anime styled art can be. The precision he puts into his work is spectacular and I'm always always always inspired, and I always try and attempt to color a bit like him, hee. : B

    6) Edgar Meyer/String Bass; String bass for obvious reasons. I played it for a good while (and am getting back into it again) and it completely changed my life and how I saw things. Bass was one of the best things that ever happened to me--and every musician needs her music idol! For me, that was Edgar Meyer. He's an amazing bass virtuoso--one of the best bass players in the history of bass players--and I got to see him live for a concert once. It was definitely one of the most inspirational moments of my life, and I want to see him in concert again someday.

    7) Firefly; up there with Doctor Who and ATLA, and the last show that makes up my "Top 3 Favorite Shows of All Time". It's been a huge influence on me (i say 'gorram it' for god's sake pff) and how it seamlessly blends the scifi and western genre is just wonderful and INSPIRING and it's such an intense show but can be so so so funny. I fell in love with each and every character on that show and I. Just. It.

    8) Alphonse Mucha/Art Nouveau; I've always loved Art Nouveau, and when I found Alphonse Mucha my art was INSTANTLY influenced by his works. I can't really say much other than the fact that I love all of his work and find it all beautiful. Art Nouveau has always been one of my favorite art genres. (:

    9) Lolita; I love lolita (if you couldn't tell, the fashion, lawl). I love it to pieces, and I love a lot of the styles, but my favorite is probably classic. I love its elegance, charm, and overall sophistication. I enjoy its maturity and innocence. It lets girls look so absolutely gorgeous and elegant and ahhh I just love it all over. Lolita has definitely inspired me in my artwork over the years. (:

    10) Great cosplayers; I love great cosplayers. The amount of effort they put into making characters come alive is SUPERB and never ever ceases to make me absolutely starstruck. I love the amount of work they put into making costumes and how friggin beautiful they look when it's done. I also love to see them get excited about ME getting excited about seeing them. : B I just love amazing cosplayers. <3 (The picture I used is of ~GreyFinch , because she's my favorite cosplayer atm. (: )

    11) Howl's Moving Castle; In this case, I'm referring to the book. I've always loved Diana Wynne Jones and this book was spectacular. I loved it. As fun as the movie was, it didn't hold the same dynamic that the book did--so I love them both, but they're completely different. The book was so very fun, though, and just magical. It's one of my favorite books and I will continue to love it for a lonnnng time.

    12) Disney; Probably for obvious reasons. Disney has done so many amazing things--the person and the company as a whole. I can never get over that indistinguishable and unique "Disney Magic" feeling. Disney movies will always be my favorites, pioneering their way for animation, and just everything they do is wondrous. My highest goal is to work for them some day. I'm not sure if it'll happen, but here's to hoping. If not, then I'll be okay simply enjoying. <333

    13) Hayao Miyazaki; Again, sorta obvious. Miyazaki has always been one of my idols. I've practically worshiped him my whole life, seeing as I grew up with his movies as a (younger) kid. The detail he puts into his films is just fantastic, spectacular, and even shocking. His eye for detail and human characteristics makes it so that it's easy to forget that his films are purely animated. He pays so much attention to the little things, yet still manages to keep his mind on the film as a whole. Every single Miyazaki film I've seen has effected me, whether it be adorable and fun My Neighbor Totoro or extremely intense and influential Mononoke Hime. I will always look up to him. c:

    14) Teen Titans; Teen Titans holds a very special place in my heart. It was a series that got me going in my early days of drawing (see: 4th/5th grade) and without it I might've lost interest in drawing. It inspired me at an early age and still does to this day. I owe it a lot. <3 Not to mention that the original Teen Titans comics are what started getting me into western comics, so I owe TT for that as well.

    15) One Piece; The manga that got me into manga. I grew up around the stuff, sure (Sailor Moon, Pokemon manga, Digimon, etc.), but this was what got me into the pop-culture-manga/anime scene. I've never finished it, no, but Eiichiro has always been a huuuuge inspiration for me. I love his characters and his wonky style of art, and how he can make all sorts of ridiculous things AWESOME. I owe One Piece for getting me into manga/anime and starting my art career. For that, I'll always love it.

    16) Hanna is Not a Boy's Name; BIG SHOCKER HERE, AIN'T IT? Haha. You guys all know this already, but Hanna has completely changed my life over the past six months or so. Not only is it beautifully drawn, its characters and plots are SO INTERESTING I'm just FASCINATED by it. I love the comic as a whole because of its intricate ideas and its sheer potential at this point. <3 I also love it because of its fandom, and the friends I've made from it (see: over 9000 people) and how it's gotten me inspired in too many ways to name. Also because meeting Tessa was prooobably one of the most spectacular moments of my life. Getting to see how humble and human she is got me to realise that you can be a normal (well, as normal as Tessa gets ) person and still go SO FAR with art. She's just an inspirational person. (I could go on for about 93284092384 more DAYS about HiNaBN but i'll stop here. : B)

    17) Clamp/Magic Knight Rayearth; CLAMP has always been one of my biggest inspirations. I grew up with Cardcaptor Sakura, fell in love with Tsubasa Chronicles, Tokyo Babylon, Chobits, xxxHolic (and more) as I got older, and their group as a whole just grew on me. But it wasn't until I found Magic Knight Rayearth that they just SHOT to the top of my list. As much as I love CCS and Tsubasa, their Magic Knight Rayearth style will always be my favorite style. As I said before, it's got that post-80s, early/mid-90s feel to it that I love so much. But not only that, it has simply SUPERB amounts of detail. I fell in love with Clamp because of the amount of work and sheer detail that they put into each and every one of their panels and illustrations. MKR will always be a huuuuge inspiration for me. This will be my favorite anime-art style forever and ever and I could look at Clamp's MKR illustrations for DAYS (and I can, too; I own one of the art books : D). MKR will always be one of my favorite manga in the world. Always.

    18) Tokyo Mew Mew; The anime that started it all. One Piece may have gotten me interested in manga/anime, but it was Tokyo Mew Mew that got me into art. I'm sure a bunch of you have heard the story before: 10 year old me was bored one day on the computer during the middle of summer when, on KOL (Kids OnLine), when I came across 4kid's freakin' Tokyo Mew Mew (or 'Mew Mew Power' as they so elegantly renamed it |: ) page. It was my first time seeing post-90's style and to be honest, I was just really intrigued. So I picked up a pen, combined a few character traits (I'm pretty sure I put Ryo and Ichigo together and dyed her hair black |: ) and LO AND BEHOLD MY FIRST ANIME DRAWING (which can be found here , ALSO WHEN I SCANNED THAT A HAIR HAPPENED TO LAND ON HER FACE THEREFORE I AM FOREVER ANNOYED AT THAT ONE *SINGLE* HAIR but too lazy to rescan, pfff). I spent the next week drawing a bunch of people looking exactly the same in the same pose ever and then it progressed and progressed until I was drawing every day. And thus, how I started my art career. THUS, even though I'm long over TMM, it's probably been the BIGGEST influence on my life, art wise and just in general. (:

    19) *tir-ri ; Definitely one of my favorites, if not my favorite overall, artist on deviantart. Her art is what got me into transitioning out of anime and more into... well, whatever I'm going towards (I'm still in this awkward fuckin' limbo WHICH KIND OF SUCKS but yanno). Her stunning use of water colors NEVER CEASES TO AMAZE ME (i've been saying that a lot in these paragraphs) and oh my god the boldness of her colors makes it look digital and not traditional. I'm always impressed by her and she's inspired me to pick up thick water colors and the like. Her use of patterns is absolutely wonderful and fantastic, as well.

    20) SHINee; I'm no Shawol, but I love SHINee. I've been following them since around the time they originally debuted, and I just looove them to pieces. They're my favorite boyband and their music is just wonderful, and if I get stuck in a rut I'll probably be listening to them (especially lately--OMG LUCIFER, ANYONE? HNNNGH ).

    21) Morning Musume; IF YOU KNOW ME, THIS IS OBVIOUS, HAHA. For those who don't, well, pff, I'm basically a MoMusu wota. I love all of those girls so so so so much and ALL MY FEELINGS TOWARDS MOMUSU IS JUST THIS BIG GIANT LAKSDJFKLAJSDFLOVE sort of thing. I mean not quite lately because of the whole graduation thing WHICH I COULD GO INTO but I won't. Also, I specifically chose this picture because it's sort of a mix between old MoMusu and new MoMusu (it's the picture when there were still nine girls). I know I haven't been following them since Morning Coffee or Love Machine or anythin' like that (my first single was Resonant Blue--YEP, I'M THAT NEW), but I don't care because all of these girls inspire me and always make me wanna aim to be a better person (and worse--like, my god, getting Sugar Doll I FELT LIKE SUCH A CREEP). Anyway, their music is wonderful an upbeat and really just how I feel most of the time. I love Morning Musume to pieces. NOTHING CAN DESCRIBE AN WOTA'S LOVE!!

    22) Dalton Ghetti; Now I'm not going to pretend I've been following this guy for a long time or anythin'. In fact, I know NOTHING about him, OTHER THAN THE FACT THAT HIS PENCIL CARVINGS ARE AMAZING (yeah, those are pencils, not bottles of liquor). I literally just saw these yesterday, but it's things like this that get me SO INSPIRED to become a better artist (and sorta make me wanna kill myself, but yanno). It's just spectacular and BLEW MY FREAKIN' MIND. (You can see the bigger version of that picture here and his other works here .) Yes, those are all carved into the fuckin' graphite of a goddamn pencil. PREPARE TO GET YOUR MIND BLOWN.

    23) *kidchan ; I absolutely love Kidchan. She's been an inspiration for me for a long long time and I just adore how beautiful her pieces are. I also love her use of patterns and textures, and they got me into wanting to try more things with patterns/textures as well. My art has been heavily influenced by her. (:

AND MY GOD, THAT'S IT! FUCKIN FOUR HOURS LATER IT'S DONE.

Sorry that's so FUCKIN TL;DR. LIKE FOR GOD'S SAKE. No one's gonna read it but it was good to type up. If you did read all of that, however, I FUCKIN APPLAUD YOU. YOU HAVE MORE PATIENCE THAN I EVER WOULD HAVE EVER.

    HOPE YOU ENJOYEDDDD CB
