This one almost didn't make it up for two reasons: A) I was trying to do a moody, almost two-colour piece, but it just wasn't speaking to me the way art should, until I added some warm reds to the sunset. For some reason, the red just seemed to bind the two disparate colours together better. B) My scanner has decided to leave scan lines down art now
I was able to correct it back to its original state with a little Photoshop tweaking, but Jeez. Background inspired by this [link]

You thought through the internal skeletal structure, and that you got so much anatomical detail into something as stylized and color-conscious as this says something positive about your ability.

Lottsa drama! (I'm sneaking a quick look at work cause the websites goes sooooo slooooow at home). The reds actually look cool to me, which matches in with the nipples, but I still don't think the nipples should be pink given her skin colouring. (owww, Sid's bitching about nipple colour on a mermaid thing...) Cheated on the hands, you.

Because of the adjustments I had to make after scanner problems, a lot of the pinks have turned out considerably pinker than they were intended. Nipples included there, along with that strange spot of pink behind her hand. You're right of course, the nipples should have been brownish, but I had just emptied out the brown, and pink was all I had left.
Lazy, I know.
The scanner/printer's a Canon Imageclass MP700. I might just break out my old Diamondview scanner, which for some reason I still have in a box in my cupboard. I keep waiting for the price of Wacom tablets to come down, and they keep not coming down
If it'll make you feel better, I'll make hands a prominent feature in the next one.
