I wanted to achieve several things with this piece:1) I wanted to try and use colours I'd never used before and weren't comfortable with. Hence, my new favourite colour is sap-green, used predominantly on the forest floor.
2) I didn't want any recognisable brush strokes, just shapes. The only exception proved to be in the tail, which is brush-shaped, and therefore exempt.
3) I wanted to try and depict fur better than in previous attempts, something I think I succeeded at. The black I used on the shading turned out to be much too savage, and messed up her fur texture a bit, but I think I salvaged it decently.

It has a very beautiful flow that's full of serenity.
The strokes you used in this gives it a much softer appearence then normal watercolour techniques.

I really like this, if just for the colors and subject. I've always been a fan of foxes just for their cunning personality, and I think you showed it here very well. I'm sorry if I'm commenting on something old, but I like commenting if I fav something, so go figure. (Yes, I did fav it, if you didn't notice). The lighting is also very well done, and all in watercolor as well. To be honest, watercolor is my least favorite medium, but you use it very well. And I think the black works fine, to be honest, it seems to shade off the log. If that makes sense. x-x

This is one of those rarities for me, in which the nipples are concelaed by a thin layer of fur. Trust you to be checking out her nipples though ... I can't take you anywhere, can I?
