Meet trainee coach, teachers aid and former student Shang. That means Li Shang is not the coach… curious who is, my pets?
In the myths Alcmene and Zeus were Hercules parents, so to keep him with his un-disney like four parents I made them divorced and re-married. It’s closer to the myth in any case.
That sweet man flesh? Blatant fan-service or possibly I just wanted to practice drawing chiselled torsos… either one, perhaps both.
Herc's semi-changed clothes by I didn’t really get to show of her clothing design, but I really liked the myth nod to number 12 on the tee that is Herc’s and I hung next to him and the bolt belt buckle.
Have a hard time remembering what’s going on? Re-read the story, makes it easier.

is the decision to have Herc's parents divorced is because in the original story Hera hates Hercules?

The decision is due to the fact that Alcmene is herc's birth mother in the original myth and I like the idea of throwing in some contemporary situations in to the comic
Like lots of people wear glasses but none wear them in Disney so now CInderella and Belle wears them and Herc has divorced parents. lots of people have that,

Canon is rule. If their original (Sequels don't count) movie have a couple they are going to be, more or less anyways due to time and space in the comics....
TV and Sequel couples are fair game to break though ^^

Hmm should be interesting to see how the Mulan/Shang relationship works out then with him being the teacher's aid. Bit of a forbidden fruit situation there. >: )
I don't blame you on the sequels, most of them are absolute rubbish. I think the only one I can think of off the top of my head that I like is Rescuers Down Under.

I am focusing on the five main plots of Tangled, hunchback, little mermaid, beauty and the beast and Hercules. Shang and Mulan's story will not be investigated to any depth

it IS closer to the myth. I´m asumming Zeus has re-married to Her Right? well, in the myth, the mother was a human and Hera was a completely different character so yeah, it works

Not that I have planed to give any real tme to. but as it is a possibility and in canon as this is a world were all ther stories happen just in a more modern setting... he couldn't be a teacher

Fantastic as always, although it's a bit jarring to see Shang's hairstyle from the movie in his modern re-incarnation. There are no chinese guys in the world still keeping that sort of style I think haha, especially in a westernized society such as this.

As I am not a fantastic artist but a decient one I decided to forgo a more modern hair for Shang but to stick to the one we know as he is really hard to draw. I have such a hard time with the more square based styles. Glen Keane and Ken Duncan being more of an influance on me. It's to make him more recoginseable I made that choise
