In almost every zoo which contains a bit of water, you can find wild ducks. This proud mama is watching her latest hatchlings while they are peacefully dozing off.
Species: Mallard or Wild Duck (Wilde eend)
Latin name: Anas Platyrhynchos
Originates from the temperate and subtropical Americas, Europe, Asia and North Africa, and has been introduced to New Zealand and Australia.
Current status: Least Concern
