Say, I think I saw these guys on that Animal Planet show about the critters in the Marianas Trench I was watching last night...
Seriously, these creepy little buggers really do look like some of the wilder deep-sea fish I've seen on different nature shows. Nice work, especially with the hints of outlines on their internal organs and the spots along their bodies suggesting bioluminescence.

It wouldn't surprise me if eels like those are actually discovered. The deeper the ocean is, the less sunlight reaches the ocean floor, the more likely chances of seeing oceanic lifeforms like your buddies there.

I don't know the purpose of these eels, or if they have any. But they remind me of the Lord of the Flies novel when Simon is getting eaten by the fish.
