Here's my bad gal Sapphira Reese and it looks like she's playing Cupid this year! She's a regular Gangster of Love and she's looking to catch a few folks in the ass with some love bullets!
Yeah...I know I'm a little late with this one, but being that I work at a nice restaurant I was extremely busy over Valentine's Day weekend. I had the lines done, but I had a hard time trying to find time to color this. But better late than never, here's my Happy Valentine's Day pic! This one was inspired by the very funky Outkast song that I quoted above as well as the song "Love Hater" which is also on "The Love Below" LP. It's a yearly tradition of mine to listen to that album all day, as it makes me happy and keeps me from thinking about me not having a girlfriend! The pose comes from a photo in an issue of The Source magazine that I've been dying to draw. I was gonna make this Angie, but Angie always gets all of the fun...it's time to let some of my other gals get a piece of the action. Plus, I'm on a Sapphira kick right now, so I figured I'd make everyone's favorite bitch the star of this piece!

Now this one...there's not much to complain about, really. Aside from the eyes being too wide (which I'm starting to understand is more of a style choice for you), I don't see much off...maybe the hands are too small. The colors are effective. Presentation, again, is my lesson for today...a little more thought into the background, the font choice, some graphics, etc. could really push this image into something even more attractive.

Yeah, I could've done something better for a background instead of taken the lazy route and just used a gradient fill. And the font choice is a bit small and not nearly as eye catching as it could be. If you haven't seen it, check this alternate version of this one [link] ...it's my lines but my DA gal-pal rocked the colors!!! It has already claimed the spot of most faved deviation in my gallery in only 3 weeks! Her colors REALLY brought my lines to life!
As for the eyes, I never really thought about my "style". I guess that is a style thing...I've tried going for a natural, realistic looking eye but end up erasing it and going for what I have been doing. I suppose that is my style...or maybe I just do it wrong but it doesn't look bad so it works for me. But for everything else, thanks for seeing improvement in my work!

THis is great, Marc! I love the outfit design, the porpostions of the various body parts and even the background! The only conplain is how Sapphira's holding the firearm. Looks like she gonna drop it any minute now, and I'd hate for it to go off and Sapphira get hit with a bullet from her own gun, then try to kill YOU for suggesting she hjold a live gun in the first place!!

Awesome. Your lines on the hair are really good, I'm working on that hair tutorial, showing how to draw braids, straight hair, wavy hair, and curly hair. Her outfit is cute and amusing. Bit revealing too. I like how you gave her a background and did some very good shading on her skin. Proportions are perfect I have nothing to say. I would change the way you tried to make her hair look shiny, and hopefully, the tutorial will help.
