I realize I'm almost a year late in seeing this, but I just discovered your HV ships by way of someone else who faved mine: maxxqbunine.deviantart.com/
It's a very nice model, but, contrary to what Hutchsoj says above, it's nowhere close to canon. The biggest difference to canon is the double impeller rings. I'm assuming that the larger nodes are the alphas, and the second ring with the smaller nodes are the betas. HV ships - of all navies - have a single impeller ring fore and aft, with beta nodes interspersed with the alpha nodes - two betas for every alpha.
The second most glaring non-canon thing I noticed was a lack of boat bays. I'm assuming that what you were talking about above when you mention docking bays. HV boat bays are literally on the bottom of the ship, and open to space. There may be SOME differences between navies, and it's strongly implied that PNS Tepes (Cordelia Ransom's ship) MAY have side boat bays, in addition to her standard bottom bays.
Third, your tapers are too steep, but that's a symptom of your hammerheads being too small. Hammerheads are the same size as the rest of the ship as far as diameter and height.
Last of the major crits is that weapons should be mixed together, instead of being grouped by type, as the general idea is that a single hit won't take out too many of the same type of weapon.
The rest is minor. I might suggest getting a copy of House of Steel (if you don't already have it) as it has some basic lineart of what RMN and Grayson ships look like, from destroyers to SD(P)s. I was one of the contributors to the book, and am contributing to the second HV companion, House of lies, and will be working on House of Shadows when we start working on it. God knows I wish I had something like HoS when I started trying to model HV ships. As it turned out, the guy who runs BuNine saw my stuff and asked me to join them. This was before BuNine was even called BuNine, so basically, I'm one of the nine founders.
Anyway, apologies if I sounded too critical. I don't normally do this, but I thought maybe you could improve your designs if you saw what is actually considered canon.

Hi. My intention was not to produce a design that represented any particular class from the books, or even be completely accurate to the books in a general sense. It's more "inspired by", my own take on them.
As for the boat bay : once again, there IS a boat bay in the bottom of the ship, which IS open to space. It's not very clear in this view, but it is there.

Very nice and close to canon. Only thing I notice missing at the moment is the docking bays, but the rest of the ship looks good.

Thanks! It's not very clear, but there actually is a docking bay in the lower hull in the center - on this view that little white glowy triangle thing you can see? That's the ceiling of the bay, which glows a soft yellow/white light. If you look at the orthographic view, you can make out the oblong docking bay port in the side.
