It depends what you want to do with blender, it can do alot. a complete rigged grannie with wrinkles, nice hair everywhere and some brown fluid simulation that i imagine is masterclass and difficult to make

blender offers you subsurfscattering for nice skin effects and a lot more stuff, even zbrushers use cycles for rendering. try it!

There are lots of 3d content vendors on deviantart that could advise you. Its something to think about!
I have heard that cycles is very good. But I use daz studio and I think there are some difficulties using cycles with that program.Β

Hi, I have a question. Is it possible to make a video of the making of this shuriken and opload it on youtube or any similiar site. I'm fairly new to blender (Made some little think like pool balls or a soccer ball nothing really big) and I just love the design of your work. I know I may be asking a bit too much from you, but having one or two big projects successful (even if only done step by step after a tutorial) will keep (at least my) motivation at high and give me more ideas for future projects.

That's cool, but it doesn't look like it would fly very well...

It looks like the thickness might impair it a bit, and the holes in the blades might reduce it's height sustaining air resistance. But I'm probably wrong.

I like symmetrical objects, because they save a lot of rendertime, during a loop animation.
