Because vast majority of Dracula depictions are based on Pop-Cultural Osmosis of Bela Lugosi's depiction since then rather than how he's actually depicted in the book which is the one thing everyone has forgotten about despite his popularity that is.

I really do love this one. By far it's my favorite drawing of Dracula that I've ever seen.Β
I know I've seen the No Twilight compliment handed out a lot but what I really love about this guy is the forced smile he's got going on there. He's not really smilling; he's about two seconds away from flying into blind psychotic blood greed.Β
I mean really, he looks someone who's trying to sell an image of aristocratic nobility. The reality is much worse. He's a sentient version of Jaws, capable of lying, seducing and making deals.Β

It looks you combined elements of the original description of Dracula from the book and the famous portrait ofΒ Β Vlad the Impaler, and make for a completely unique and amazing look for one literature's most famous monsters. Well done.

Granted it may not be a accurate depiction in your opinion but it's what I consider the closest depiction.

What they said, and more! Not only do you have Stoker's description down to the smallest fang, but you've even given Drac a resemblence to the famous portrait of the historical Vlad Dracula, the Impaler Voivode of Wallachia!

haha! that was the intention, trying to follow his description AND making it like the original vlad! glad you can see it

I have a favor to ask of you...I want an avatar, and a close-up of your Dracula's facve would be ideal, but a)I need your blessing, and b)I need someone to tell me how to get it to fit! I cropped three other photos and the stupid DA Avatar program-thingie rejected them all as wrong size!

Do you know how big the avatar size limit is supposed to be for deviant art? I can make one for you if you find out!
