Thanks! It's from my sculpture--I just applied a filter to a photograph I took of it, but I like the effect...

Looks very earthy. I like the colors.
Have you had any luck with the cafepress store? I was considering opening an account.

I haven't really TRIED to promote it, because I haven't bothered to make many items there. Umm, so no--not really yet. I need to do that. If you sign up, tell 'em Gallery Number 23 referred you!

I don't know about a gift of any sort, but the way it works is whoever referrs you gets a tiny percent of Cafepress's part the proceeds from whatever stuff you sell. I've made a whopping $16 bucks in referral commission total last time I checked, and that's with 3 or 4 referrals, so we're not talkin' megabucks here. BUT now YOU can refer other people and do the same! So thanks!

hey isn't this the one that busted in the kiln? anyhow I like what you did with the filters... someone mentioned that it gives it a surreal look... I agree.

Yep--hopefully the actual piece will be resurrected in a new form fairly soon. Thanks!

OH YEAH! good luck I know I always loved that piece of yours and I was so sad for you when you told me about the unfortunate mishap...

Well, the kiln gods can be fickle and cruel, but they have their reasons. We'll see if the resurrected piece will be even better then what I had planned...

Must ponder this...

now im having a brain storm about 'support your favorite deviant' tshirt idea. since you got the ear of the higher ups... wouldnt it be cool if everyone could submit one of their pieces for a tshirt so people who love them could buy a wearable version....

MsJ777 In reply to 925-STUDIO [2005-07-21 04:35:21 +0000 UTC]
INteresting...I dunno about higher ups' ears, but everyone can do it if they want. Seriously--if you want a t-shirt of this, or a cami or a mousepad or a steel travel mug or a totebag or a notebook with it on the front or something like 50 other items, let me know and I'll give you a link to it ASAP. If you yourself would like to do the same (make your stuff available on stuff), just go to cafepress.com and say Gallery Number 23 referred you when you sign up...

Nope--it's actually Gallery NUMBER 23--gotta spell out the "number" part. But yeah, there's a veritable cornucopia of possibility in there--Cafepress !
Fancy taking over the world?

Bah on their rules. Put it there if you want. You might try layering a photo of real eyes over these then you wouldn't be "breaking the rules"...
It's nice as it is tho.

Thanks. I don't know about putting "real" eyes in there--I really like the way the sculpted ones came out. Still--it's a thought!

i really like what you have done with the filter. It gives this photo a surreal (heh) look that i find very appealing (of course). i hope the print works out. It is a great image for a print.

Thanks! I've been trying to find the perfect image of this for a print, and I'm not even sure this is the "one", but I'll give it a try. There' may be more of these coming...

I think the darkroom category covers stuff like filters and contrast, etc. That looks really cool, by the way. Great colors - very autumnal. The eyes are very intense.
