Description Hey there! I wanted to show you the long awaited progress on Stipp, created by modeled by Miss Alena Wooten. Its not completely done, there are a few fixes that I'm going to address, like making her hand bigger, adding the slit in her hair, putting her clothes on, pointing the knee a bit more, obviously her ears need to be completed, and finesse her right arm a bit more...But its almost done. Something popped up, so read my journal to get the juice!

Super Sculpey (mixed with a block of black and white sculpey III)
About 8.5 inches
About 10 hours all together, minus the chaos in my life..hehe.
I'm pretty sure it will stand on its own, I have to cut the wire and fire it to tell.

Guess what the hardest part was???

I'm gonna guess the bow. My second guess would be the feet.

Your maquettes are really amazing. If I could sculpt like that, my room would be full of little characters. They'd put me in a psych ward.

Anyways, when I sculpt with sculpey, I get mad because my fingerprints will get in the stupidest places, or the tools I have aren't adequate... >.>

And I can't get a hold on any glass eyes.

I bet the hardest was the stringy things on her ears, your work is most excellent by the way.

hurm, Hardest part Eh..... I woudl have said.... for me anyway, getting the expression right, or the legs to sit naturally in that possition, but I am gunning more for the expression, I love your work, as always, and I Love tomato dragons too, so I cant really go wrong with this.... also... I kinda wanna buy it.... or have one made myself....

superb as always, i'd assume the hardest part would be the arms, making them look natural but strong while wrapping both around the back and inbetween the legs

this is coming along so nicely :3 can't wait to see the finished product. i really like the pose of the body and how smooth and curvy it is :3 and you did a really good job on the hair and face

theferretliveson [2005-06-13 17:29:23 +0000 UTC]

Um, was teh hair the hardest? Or the hand in the back?

This rocks! So does all your other work, of course... ^^

Nice work on this one mate! Although it's not finished it's looking great. Can't wait to see the finished product.
I guess the most difficult part would have been... the legs? They cross over each other in such a weird way from what I gather in the illustrated image that you must've found it rather difficult to guess how they were like.

oh yea, hardest part I would guess the hands?

👍: 0 ⏩: 0

Moosepunk [2005-06-11 20:05:47 +0000 UTC]

wow, your work always amazes me! It's really hard (for most) to get something three dimesional exactly resembling a drawing, but you always come through and make it perfect. holy moly, mad props to you, doing this as a profession should be no problem for you.

About the molding thing, yea you could make one on your own and stuff, but I would look into just giving it to a professional mold maker, so it comes out really nice, and all you would have to do is pour them. Something as complex as that is really difficult, if not impossible, to make a perfect mold of. Just from looking at the picture, my opinon would be that you could not make a mold of that, unless you cut it apart and then assembled it like an action figure. But yea, get a professional opinion.

Great work and good luck with all!

WOW, Thanks for the comments and the information! Glad you like it, and I might look into a pro molder...I wonder where you can find something like that...and how much that would cost just to make a mold of it! Thanks again!

Wow, that is just awesome! I would think the feet would be the hardest part... then again I haven't really gotten into the whole 3D aspect of clay.
I love making stuff out of clay, but I just never get into it enough or make the time.
Keep up the good work! Your talent is awesome :3
