This is just all-around perfect, from the position of the head, the the motion in the coat, the forest in the background, to the very slight grin...

Very well rendered. It seems the whole of the picture contributes to his majesty, while the grin suggests a playful side to him. You've done a fantastic job in your portrayal of the All-Father.

I like your pic. There Odin looks not only mystical, but dangerous too. And he's smiling so knowingly^^
*fave* I am glad that I have his rune aiding me through live.

I just have to say; It's amazing what you'll find here on DevArt.
Observation: for better or for worse you can't tell he only has one eye... But it's your art and it's beautiful regardless.

Ach so. Sorry to interrogate you like that then. I've had one too many Nazis come in here looking at my stuff. It's shameful, you know?

Hail the Alfather! I love it. The stereotypical RAWAAARRGHHH! Odin is but one aspect, being the Father of the Battle-Slain. Oddly enough, this warrior aspect of Odin is seen very little in the Lays and Sagas of my ancestors. He is more often seen as intriguing and master-plotter who would battle with wits rather than might or steel.
In this rendition, I would say he is in his aspect as the Grey Wanderer; as Grimnir -- the name he assumed when visiting Midgard in disguise.
I always put my Gods in the Fantasy section... makes the most sense, since Mythological characters, religion, and deity cannot be empirically proven, they are therefore, technically, 'fantasy'. unless it's comic-type stuff...
Well done, you do my Northern Ancestors proud with this one.

Heil Wotan! I know what you mean--I meant this to be Harbard, Grey-beard, hiding in order to tease out precious information from some unwary jotun or king.
I hope I do my ancestors proud as well.

This is one of the best Odin's I've seen on DA. Perfectly captures the character.

This is sort of how I've pictured Odin; more man of mystery than stereotypical viking. I love the movement added by the folds in the cloak.

I really love this--the background and the shading and the movement of his clothing and the smirk and the way the hat is outside the frame. It creates such a mood. Wow. I'm a bit new to deviantart, but I'm going to figure out how to add this to my favorites now.

Just ink with a small paintbrush. The very lazy way of inking!

I'm not so good at drawing the ravens... Still working on bird anatomy. And it is a little cliche.

This is nice and illustrative. I like the way you handle fabric, as well as hair. Kind of a romantic style Odin, I guess.

I really like the way you decided to keep his clothes outside the background frame. It looks like you took some time to actually work the mediums to your advantage - whatever kind of paper you used definfately compliments the ink. (I love textured paper *-*) I think you've done an excellent job with this, and there really isn't much room to improve at all.
