So here, at long last, is my Halloween Costume!! One of them, anyway. I had two. Anydots.......

My family went to Disneyworld for Halloween this year. We all attended Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween party on the 26th and the 31st, dressed as the cast of Disney's "Peter Pan". Of course, I was Peter Mom-Wendy, Charlotte-Tinkerbell, Dad-Capt. Hook, Casey-Mr. Smee, and Alyssa-Princess Tiger Lily. It was a good cast of characters! XD

So I made this costume....The tunic is based on a McCall's pattern that I altered to make it longer. Then I chopped the sleeves off, ironed medium weight interfacing to the insides of the sleeves and bottom of the tunic, shaped it, serged around the desired points (THAT was hell.....), and hemmed everything 5/8 inch. That took the longest.

The tights I dyed myself using RIT dye in Kelly Green. The shoes (which I HATE. They're not the right color or shape!!!) I spray painted (remember my CATS jazz shoes? Well....), and the hat I just kinda guessed at and sewed. It came out well, even though you can barely see the feather in any of the pictures. The belt was stolen from another costume because I forgot mine at home. The wig is a slightly altered "Schoolteacher" wig. I had to cut it a little.

And now the ears.....Oh those ears!! I bought a pair of elf ears from Cinema Secrets, and some liquid latex. spirit gummed the ears on, latex-ed up all the seams several times, and then painted over everything with foundation to blend with my skintone. They're my favorite part of this costume.

Draw on strange eyebrows, and now you've got a Peter Pan!

The cast member dressed as Peter came up to me during the parade and shook my hand my costume is so better than his (minus my shoes). I have prosthetic ears. He doesn't. Haha. I'm more authentic than you!!! Lol. I got a lot of attention cause of my costume. The other Peter Pans there were either 5 or really old. My only problem was the boob thing.
