Description Alright, it's rather rough (both the application and the info down here), but I think I at least have a good base for my OC. I will definitely be editing and adding to these, but it's 5 AM right now so it'll have to wait. u___u

• Name: Sahre (sah-ray)
• Age: 20
• Spirit Animal Name: Vohuun (voh-hoon, sometimes just called Vo)
• Spirit Animal Species: Crow
• Tribe: Desert
• Height: 5'3"

Job: Jeweler: loves to search out minerals whenever possible (this also sometimes this involves stealing jewels from other tribes- a habit only encouraged by her spirit animal), fashions said minerals and gems into jewelry for personal fashion and as well as to bring money to the tribe, and for herself and her mother; Sahre isn't quite that experienced in terms of being a warrior but knows her way around a knife and general thievery; also a bit of a merchant in training, though it's not at all something she's particularly interested in.

Likes: Shiny things (has a great weakness for trinkets of all kinds), swimming (though she isn't very good at it), exotic goods and food (it kills her that she often can't take too many things with her because her tribe is incredibly nomadic), discovering something new, the occasional prank or joke, reading (though rare unless she happens to get such material in trades with other tribes)

Dislikes: Crafts that involve armor or those dealing with clothing (especially mending), heavy manual labor, confrontation/personal conflict with others (a problem considering her slight kleptomania is liable to land her in trouble), violence, too much routine

Personality: Sahre is usually very positive- hardly ever down or upset. In fact, it takes quite a lot to anger her and she generally lives life with a laid-back approach to things. As if following the nomadic ways of her people, she goes where fate takes her. In her words, there's no use in getting boiled over something, as that'd make being under the sun all day even more heated than it has to be. When around others, she tends to be a little too much involved in their personal space, though she doesn't mean anything by it than to be friendly. Sometimes she's a bit on the teasing side, especially with quiet or shy women (usually because they're easier targets to mess with).

When it comes to gems and other pretty, shiny trinkets, she'll often get extremely giddy. Woe to any woman who gets trapped within her monologues over gemstones and the intricacies of jewelry. For this reason, she is particular about not letting harm come to her hands (and dislikes anything to do with metalworking, as she finds it risky). Fighting is not only an arduous responsibility, but it also carries the risk of maimed fingers, so she tends to not volunteer for any sort of tribe security or scouting.

She has a bad habit of stealing when certain gemstones or deals are on the line. Due to the fleeting nature of meetings with outside women, Sahre doesn't hesitate to take an opportunity to acquire something nice. It also doesn't help Vohuun, her spirit animal, helps with swiping.

Aside from her passion over her craft, one will find Sahre is somewhat neutral towards many other things, such as tribe affairs, other women's interests, and especially conflict. From time to time, she wishes she were born into a less nomadic tribe, if only so she could be lazy and not have to be so incredibly mobile. Despite this laziness for movement, Sahre has a dream to someday go somewhere different and new- a place she can discover. Beyond her barren desert home lies forests and oceans and vast plains the likes of which she can't imagine, but would love more than anything to see.

History: Sahre was given by the Goddess to her mothers after months of prayer. The mother that carried her, named Merius, chose to stay at the Temple to avoid the harshness of the desert during pregnancy. However, in the time she was alone with child, a clash between the Hill and the Desert tribes unfortunately ended the life of Merius's partner early, and so Sahre was raised with just one parent upon returning from the Temple.

Though both of Sahre's parents had been guards for the tribe, Merius decided to give up such a profession to focus on something a little more safe. It was here she went on to become a trader between the Desert tribe and the other tribes (a feat helped by the fact she was a more social woman than most in her group), and Sahre was given her first taste of exotic goods from this. A lifelong fascination with these crafts of other women led her to take on becoming a craftswoman herself, and she eventually devoted her time to becoming a jeweler.

Much like her mother, Sahre is a bit more social with outsiders than those of the Desert tribe are rumored to be. It's a useful trait she employs to trade gems and various wares with the tribes at her current age. Nowadays, Sahre assists Merius with the merchant trade, often putting up her own creations to be bartered between tribes and learning a little something about business in the meantime. Unfortunately for money's sake, Sahre has a tendency to trade not for coin but for collectibles and maps, as well as tales and stories taken from far off lands and women of other cultures.

Spirit animal: Vohuun, or just Vo for short, is Sahre's crow spirit animal. She is quite crafty and adept at swooping in unnoticed (which helps in Sahre's occasional thieving, for good or worse). When Vohuun isn't the one doing the theft, she acts as an alarm. Working as a duo has helped in keeping out of being caught for the time being.

In the case of more savory conduct, Vo is a great help for not only Sahre, but the rest of the tribe as well when it comes to scouting out water, food, or potential threats from the air. Unlike Sahre, she's much more likely to volunteer for active duties, at least if it's not during the day. She doesn't have much love for the desert heat and usually goes off on watch after the sun goes down- especially fitting since she can blend in easily with the night sky. During the day, however, she'll often just lounge around on Sahre's shoulder or nap while her other half makes jewels.

Vo is quite content with her life in the desert and tends to highly distrust women from other tribes. It distresses her that her human would ever want to leave life in their tribe to go explore the lands of foreigners.

Yeah, I've kept them confined to my friends for the past few years, but since they're busy with work and one's without a computer for the time being, our RPs are on a bit of a hiatus. So in addition to those (whenever they do come back), I joined a new RP group here on dA to pass the time. I needed a reason to come back to this account, lol

I do a lot of RPing on Twitter. Turns out it's a really nice place for it. Way better than Tumblr...

I have an irrational hatred for Twitter, so I haven't RP'd on there. I've tried Tumblr RP but none of my attempts lasted long enough to test it out. But I imagine on long chains, it starts getting to be too much for the way the reblog system works. xD

Nowadays, if it's not long form on a forum, it's restricted to chat (especially Skype).

Twitter isn't bad /for RP/ purposes. Tumblr is just a bunch of kids that take their characters and only worry about flirting around. It's pretty dumb. Also yes, long chains are a pain in the ass. Twitter is pretty crystal clear on things.

For me, Tumblr is better for character RP if it's in the form of an ask blog. I've seen tons of great character ask blogs that even incorporate drawing responses and stuff as well.

I've never actually been able to navigate Twitter, lol. Like, with retweets and stuff. But it seems like the format is much better for short RPs, but the character limit would kill me. I tend to ramble when I get really into posts, lol

That's why you make multiple tweets. Twitter is a lot cleaner and honestly much easier to navigate than tumblr. I do run an ask blog on Tumblr, yet I still get a lot of childish people in the community. ask-themoonacolyte.tumblr.com/

It heavily depends on the fandom on Tumblr. As a Homestuck, I can vouch the Homestuck fandom can be very problematic. I wouldn't make an ask blog or RP blog for that sort of thing (even though I have like a million fantrolls I wanna RP asjhdjkashdjk).

Also, if you take off the ability to have anonymous asks, you might have a better time. People will abuse the shit out of anon. Even then, Tumblr's not for everyone. I personally don't like open RP and prefer to keep it between one to two people privately, haha.

Yeah, I know. Sometimes anons can ask some nice questions though, but depending on how many troll asks I get I just might close it, but it's not just anons that ask me dumb things. The League of Legends champion I RP as has a very 0 bullshit policy. She has a very tragic history that's made her devoid of any emotions and even killing. Yet, here I get people who act all stupid hyper and ADD around her expecting the same from her. I've even had people complain and ask why she won't make friends with their characters. They don't understand she's someone that doesn't trust anyone nor does she care about friendship. The complicated times of RP...

Kinda sounds like people who don't understand how characterization works. I always find that with more serious characters, people will give them the "Draco in Leather Pants" treatment, i.e. they portray them as misunderstood loners who would totally open up to the right people if you push the right buttons (that, and they try to say their aloofness and sometimes douchey behavior is 100% justified but you see that more with self inserts). "I can totally fix them, they'll come around if my character shows them what happiness is!"

No stop don't desist

I hate people who are like that so much. I've had people come up and try that with Diana. "Oh she's just grumpy and sad, maybe my happy sunshine, hyper, and cheery attitude will fix her! Yaaaay!

NO. Characters don't just instantly and easily change after something mentally tragic has happened to them.

A lot of characters are ruined for me because of misinterpretation. Sometimes fandom can make characters a lot more interesting for me, but then there's those who are like NO I CAN NEVER UNSEE NOW. I don't let random strangers "change" any characters I play, lol. It has to be done with a reliable partner and while still in character, but unfortunately, that doesn't happen very often. orz
