There are many legends involving the Cyclops, most notably Homers Odessey. But there is another that tells how the Cyclops were offered forsight in exchange for one of thier eyes. (they supposedly had 2 eyes in the beginning) The Cyclops agreed but found that they had been tricked, for the only foresight they gained was in seeing thier own deaths.
My attempt with this wp was to capture the moment of horror when the Cyclops saw his own death. Hope it worked. =]

I suppose you have to (with all the art thieves out there) but the watermark over the eye makes me quite sad. Eyes are my favourite thing, you see.
Unfortunately I know just how necessary it is- I remember all that drama way back with folks swiping art from you. That made me sad too.

The texture in this is very nice. I would even think about taking out the eye? it's pretty heavy on the left side as well. I do love those textures/colors you chose very effective

It is amazing, that a piece like this gets so much attention. It is only my critique but have to ask is it popurlarity or quality? Only reason, there are several flaws artisticly that set this off from completion. Shadowing and masking is off in several places, blending could be stepped up as well. An composition is setting off a bit. Nice concept but really looks and feels unfinished. You would probably get alot further with your work if it the consistency of a five minute ooooo aaaaaaahhhh effect was present. Meaning your work doesn't really grab and hold the viewer. The unfished feel contributes to that. People are impressed, but if you asked anyone right now.........remember cyclops?........would they remember? Probably not.
I am sure this is not the type of feedback your used to. And you dont have to take it for much. Print it off and take it to a local art gallery and get someones opinion. I just don't coat it on, like others on this site. Real life.....this piece doesn't say much and really executes poorly to the viewer. I know it is easy to get lost in the tons of amazing feedback but honestly, 75% of that is wanting positive comments and favorites back from yourself. It is really what this site has become. Sadly!
