Description Here's the puppet I've been working on since Dragon*Con, Skeeter Grosse. If you watched Muppet Babies, you'll remember Scooter's twin sister who never appeared anywhere else (aside from a few kiddie books)... until Boom! Comics published "Family Reunion," an arc of their Muppet Show comic in which Skeeter, now all grown up, returned. She was redesigned by Amy Mebberson, who from all accounts spearheaded Skeeter's appearance in the comic. This is the Skeeter who won my heart, and I just had to try building her. I dedicate this to you, !

This isn't quite the final version. I'm going to improve on her glasses, make her a sturdier pair. And this costume is frankly not there yet. I shwacked it out of stuff I got at Goodwill, and it'll do until I get the supplies to make her real getup. Yes, she will have her gloves!

I can't tell you how pleased I am that you like my Skeeter puppet! You did a great job of designing her as an adult, and I was hoping I'd do her justice.

I have a finished version of the puppet over here . Her skirt is shorter (no more elastic waistband, ugh) and she has a necklace and striped gloves. You can tweet & tumble this picture, or that one, or both, whichever you like, just so long as you give credit to me.

I wish I could pose her better. Problem is, I can either hold the puppet or the camera. When I can get someone to take pictures I'll post shots of her "in action" rather than stuck on a dowel.

I'm willing to do commissions. However, because puppet-making is a very labor-intensive task, it would not be cheap.

Technically I'm not making Muppets, that being a trademarked term and all. I'm making replicas of Muppets. But if they're close enough for people to confuse 'em with the real thing (and some people did at Dragon*Con!) then I'm doing something right!

My esteem for you goes up several more notches due to this; it is so cool you made a real Skeeter puppet. She already looks fantastic- good enough to be the final product in my estimation. However, I'm glad you plan on completing her wardrobe. It's stupid, but I might have been just the tiniest bit disappointed if you hadn't added the gloves.

Awww, gawrsh, thanks. Don't worry about the gloves, I've already sewn 'em and put 'em on her, and when I fix up a few other things I'll post an updated photo.

After making this puppet and Janken I understand why puppets cost so much. The materials aren't cheap, and the making of 'em is hugely labor intensive. Whew!
