It nice but not evan the magical Katana could strike through steelplate armour , this guy don't need a shield or a armour , in this picture it looks like that the armour is silver sprayed cardboard . But this drawing still cool !

He's using the specifically anti-armor axe here (and a few inches of penetration is still a kill, don't need to chop off limbs or anything), and even fighting with swords and shields was still plenty deadly.

That axe has a long edge, so =/= armour penetrating, the damage would be a dent at most. However, the handle is pretty long so it could generate enough force to be a concussion which is very bad to get in the middle of a fight.

You know what would have been awesome too?
The blood could have came out of the face of the helmet, while leaving the axe where it is, embeded in the head.
That could have shown the power of the strike, deforming the helmet enough for it to blow up the head.
I'm not saying it would be more realistic, but could maybe make the viewer think a little more
Just a thought though, this art is amazing as it is.
