Free sex ed is better because Teens should not be having sex.

I would argue that good sex ed is better for teens, but free condoms are also a step in the right direction in my book.

Why not for grown up adults instead?
Shouldn't only adults be allowed to have sex legally btw?
I'm against children being encouraged to fuck one another. Because that's what it is doing.
Handing out condoms is NOT education... it's a stupid idea of handling this. I'd rather see those stupid kids learn that sex->pregnancy the hard way than to see 'hey, you got a free condom, you can fuck now!' and have them growing right into sluts (as if there weren't too many of them already) :/
I'd rather see kids being taught sex is for making babies only and is reserved for married couples only, tell them rubbish that only masturbation gives pleasure, and leave them getting the rest of aspects revealed when they're older and more responsible. They don't need to know sex also gives pleasure, that you don't need to have the paper for it(=marriage), that you can prevent pregnancy. They have plenty of time to learn more. Let children be children as long as they can be. And let them have the masturbation and pure fantasies period... First, they need to learn responsibility and stuff helpful in adult life, then they can think about having sex. Atm they're being teased to have sex as soon as possible, they're being made curious and not afraid and not really aware of possible consequences...
This is sick.
12-year-olds... that's still primary school in my country:/

Free condoms for fucking retards
I don't think so, it's just waste of fundings.
Though on the other hand, in countries where abortion is not legal I think this would be a good counter-measure to teenage pregnancies.

I don't support underage sex, but I do support this. There will always be people who will do it underage, so it's better to make it safe.

Another good idea is for the school counsellors to provide them. The problem at my school is that there are people who just take condoms and use them for practical jokes. But still, it's better than seeing teens get pregnant.

Every time a child turns 13, a pack of condoms gets shipped to their home.

Then after that, every damn birthday they get enough to last them a full year until they're 18 or older depending on consent laws.

This is pretty cool. Good job California! I do wish that my state had that, but since we live in Arizona...
On the plus side though, at least most of the front desks at the student housing building of the college I went to had a bowl of free condoms. And there's quite a few student organizations that make it their mission to educate the student body about safe sex and healthy relationships. Unfortunately, this is only at the college level, and not everyone can afford to go to college. I really wish that they had these resources in public schools, instead of abstinence-only education where they blatantly lied about condom failure rates and the effectiveness of birth control. This idea that teenagers will have sex only if you give them contraceptives and other protection is bullshit. There were plenty of teens having sex without protection in my high school, as evidenced by the multiple outbreaks of chlamydia and gonorrhea not to mention the teen pregnancies.
On the other hand, I had the nice liberal parents who taught me real sex ed and I was on the Pill when I was 15 for endometriosis. I didn't have any kind of sex until I was 22.
And you know what, it is better to wait until you're older to have sex, but not everyone does and denying people information about their own bodies, especially when it can help them not get a disease or get pregnant is just wrong. But, these people who advocate for not teaching teenagers real sex ed or not allowing them to have access to contraceptives, or even outright lie to them like in my middle school do not care about the health and well- being of these young people. They are petty and cruel and they just want to punish them for having sex.

In Brazil, this is reality. We can get free condoms in any public health unit, being 7 or 97 years old. They are simply there, like "grab me!". (At least in São Paulo). The bad is that they don't have a supreme quality control, IF YA KNOW WHAT I MEAN.

I think it's pretty dumb of parents to ASSume that just because their kids get a proper sex ed automatically means they're gonna sleep around. Not all kids will do that. Some will choose to wait until they're in a committed relationship or even married.

I'm not in California, but I think all teens or anyone who's had puberty should have access to free condoms. Especially teenagers. Like it or not, we're gonna have sex and you might not wanna think about -as parents- exactly how young your or how soon after puberty your child is doing it-but don't you want us to be safe when we do? Or do you want a pregnant ....(rather young age 9-12👍: 0 ⏩: 0
