A Katana (almost) pin-up for Brooklyn
I think she is the most beautiful femal character introduced to the Gargoyles universe so far ("Sacrifice" would be my second favourite).
This is my first attempt in gradient shading and working with coloured outlines. Critique is much appreciated!

She really is beautiful. And beautiful job Neomae. I have to admit that when I saw her for the first time on Gargoyle wikia I liked her but I really didn't like the way they drew her though. I have seen alot of fan-art work here on Deviant that drew her way better that should have been used from that in the comics.
You know when you really think about it, Katana is not only Brooklyn's mate and true love but has also helped him mature as well.

I really like the gradient/cel shading. I recently completely failed at it so I would like to know how you did it :3
Some of these large inked triangles (like in the wing) look a bit too flat to me.
And something about the way her beak almost touches her shoulder makes her shoulder look somewhat...out of place.
Could just be me, though.

Eigentlich sieht das für mich wie eine Mischung aus Gradient-Shading und Cel-Shading aus.
Generell find ich's wirklich total niedlich geworden. Auch stilistisch spricht mich das Bild sehr an.
Generell erzielen die Farbigen outlines einen wirklich schönen Effekt. Was mich ein bisschen stört sind so größere gefüllte Flächen in den Outlines (zum Beispiel bei den Zehen ihres Fußes oder and den Händen) ... Bei schwarzen Outlines wirkt so ein mutiges Inking einfach besser als bei Bunten, finde ich. Um das zu Umgehen gibt's eigentlich 2 Möglichkeiten, die mir gerade einfallen:
1. Lass größere geinkte Flächen weg und mach die Linien an den Stellen etwas filigraner.
2. Füge einen gaaanz kleinen dunkler werdenden Gradienten in diese Flächen ein, um den Tiefeneffekt zu verstärken.
Ich hoffe, das hilft dir soweit weiter.
