Description "Don't like, don't look?"
Are you serious?
This stamp also counts towards "Don't like, don't comment!"

It's just really dumb, it makes you look weak.
Either that, or you think that "Don't like don't comment" stamps create a magical barrier that will repel so-called trolls.

-----------------------------

If you don't want people to leave comments you disagree with, don't post your work in public!
EVERYONE can see your work, and everyone can post a comment on it. You cannot prohibit someone from posting a comment on your work except if you block them.
Just grow a back bone and face the criticism like a a boss (Or just ignore it.)

If you don't want any comments from people who aren't your friends for example, just NOTE the work (or share it through sta.sh) to the people you only want it to be seen by.

Also, "Don't like, don't look" makes no sense. You'll have to look first before you decide on whether you like or don't like it, you poopoohead.

--------------------------

Edit: Christ, people. Walls of text just critted me for 4!
The context of the comment on whatever deviation doesn't matter. It doesn't matter if a comment is a negative opinion or is simply being rude. /the context doesn't matter/.
The point is, that as long as it's in public, EVERYONE can post a comment on it. People can easily disregard the buttload of NO LIKEY NO LOOKIE stamps on someones page, it's not like those stamps create a magical barrier that prevents people from speaking.
Also, it's not that I support people posting mean comments, or whatever, obviously.Β

tl;dr Don't cry if someone posts a negative comment if you post something onto public domain. Just hide the comment or block the user.

I think this was misunderstood. All this means is that if you don’t like something, there’s no point in looking at it.

LadyClassical In reply to Neozaki [2020-01-28 18:19:52 +0000 UTC]

What I meant is, I think you misunderstood what "Don't Like Don't Look" means.

Neozaki In reply to LadyClassical [2020-01-29 11:13:04 +0000 UTC]

A lot of people think it means "spontaneously become blind when you inevitable stumble upon something in a public space" but that's not what it means.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

LadyClassical In reply to Neozaki [2020-01-29 21:28:41 +0000 UTC]

I guess I think more in terms of the writing term, "Don't Like Don't Read." That way you don't have to become blind, you can just press the back button.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Neozaki In reply to LadyClassical [2020-01-30 08:01:13 +0000 UTC]

But if you press the back button it means you already read it, so that's a paradox.

LadyClassical In reply to Neozaki [2020-01-30 08:51:46 +0000 UTC]

Not if the story is more than one chapter long. Usually I just skim something and if I like it, I read it thoroughly.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Neozaki In reply to LadyClassical [2020-01-31 11:22:20 +0000 UTC]

That's nice but not everyone does that.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

LadyClassical In reply to Neozaki [2020-01-31 23:39:23 +0000 UTC]

Isn't that on them, then?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Neozaki In reply to LadyClassical [2020-02-01 09:34:04 +0000 UTC]

Isn't 'what' on them?Β

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

LadyClassical In reply to Neozaki [2020-02-02 06:15:56 +0000 UTC]

That they read something they knew they wouldn't like.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Neozaki In reply to LadyClassical [2020-02-02 08:41:37 +0000 UTC]

And?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

LadyClassical In reply to Neozaki [2020-02-03 02:19:31 +0000 UTC]

So...why would they do that?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Neozaki In reply to LadyClassical [2020-02-03 08:58:30 +0000 UTC]

Why not?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 0

LadyClassical [2020-01-28 04:00:39 +0000 UTC]

What this means is that if a work is not written or drawn for you, why read or look at it? If a fanfiction description says that the story bashes your favorite character, then only a jerk would read it just to post rude comments on something that wasn’t written for them.

πŸ‘: 1 ⏩: 1

Neozaki In reply to LadyClassical [2020-01-28 10:47:48 +0000 UTC]

So with that logic we should all delete our dA accounts, alright.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

LadyClassical In reply to Neozaki [2020-01-28 18:20:38 +0000 UTC]

No, it's just that I don't understand why someone would read something that wasn't written for them.

πŸ‘: 1 ⏩: 1

Neozaki In reply to LadyClassical [2020-01-29 11:12:22 +0000 UTC]

Because they're on a public website on a public internet?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

LadyClassical In reply to Neozaki [2020-01-29 21:27:51 +0000 UTC]

But why read it if you know you're not going to like it?

πŸ‘: 1 ⏩: 1

Neozaki In reply to LadyClassical [2020-01-30 08:00:50 +0000 UTC]

How would you know you won't like it without reading it?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

LadyClassical In reply to Neozaki [2020-01-30 08:51:11 +0000 UTC]

Well...let's say Hermione Granger is your favorite Harry Potter character. And the story says "Hermione bashing." You're probably not going to like it. OR, perhaps it has a ship in it you're not a fan of. There's a reason fanfiction.net has a filter for ships, and why most people put the ships in their story descriptions!

πŸ‘: 1 ⏩: 1

Neozaki In reply to LadyClassical [2020-01-31 11:22:51 +0000 UTC]

Not everyone likes a thing, more news at 8?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

LadyClassical In reply to Neozaki [2020-01-31 23:39:51 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, that's why they put the warnings.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Neozaki In reply to LadyClassical [2020-02-01 09:33:44 +0000 UTC]

Not everyone likes a thing so they have to reinforce that idea by confirming that?
Seems like wasted effort.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

LadyClassical In reply to Neozaki [2020-02-02 06:15:42 +0000 UTC]

What I mean is, you put the ship or bashing or trigger warning or whatever in your story description, so people don't have to read something they don't want. I know I certainly appreciate it.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Neozaki In reply to LadyClassical [2020-02-02 08:42:12 +0000 UTC]

That would only give people incentive to shit on it.

I guess you got me there. I don't understand those people at all, but I do know they exist.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Neozaki In reply to LadyClassical [2020-02-03 08:58:23 +0000 UTC]

It's because people have a general disdain for people who think they're above critique.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

LadyClassical In reply to Neozaki [2020-02-05 08:15:43 +0000 UTC]

Critique is one thing, but some things are just so subjective. I mean, if a fic has a pairing I hate, of COURSE I'm not going to like it. That doesn't mean it's poorly written, that just means it's not for me.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Neozaki In reply to LadyClassical [2020-02-05 08:42:47 +0000 UTC]

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

LadyClassical In reply to Neozaki [2020-02-05 20:23:08 +0000 UTC]

wow, that's a blast from the past. flaming...
anyway uh, i wasn't talking about flaming.

LadyClassical In reply to Neozaki [2020-02-06 00:17:03 +0000 UTC]

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Neozaki In reply to LadyClassical [2020-02-06 07:22:07 +0000 UTC]

Oh so, then all I have to say is 'okay'.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 0

cortexrulestheworld [2019-09-02 17:04:47 +0000 UTC]

I actually only use the "don't like, don't look" towards those that complain about NSFW here, I mean, I understand what you say but still
there are people that search for stuff they dislike on purpose

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Neozaki In reply to cortexrulestheworld [2019-09-03 08:24:22 +0000 UTC]

I mean, people complaining about un-marked-as-mature nsfw art do have a point, but clicking the spoiler thing while knowing what's under it is just stupid.

Still, it's called deviantart. it's all for deviants.

πŸ‘: 1 ⏩: 1

cortexrulestheworld In reply to Neozaki [2019-09-03 12:47:54 +0000 UTC]

Yeah that is true, still, it kinda bothers that people don't bother to even look what's under the filter and complain instantly

You are right tho, I just wish people were more mature

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Neozaki In reply to cortexrulestheworld [2019-09-03 13:15:06 +0000 UTC]

well let them complain, it's more fun to talk shit to em that way hahaha

cortexrulestheworld In reply to Neozaki [2019-09-03 13:25:54 +0000 UTC]

admittedly I sometimes check the popular front page and see a titty and then I click the titty just to read comments from people complaining about it
