Description

I have partially restored my computer, but I haven't reinstalled AutoCAD 2002 yet as I'm hoping to get a newer version where I don't have to constantly reset my computer's time, and without costing me an arm and a leg.  Hence why I constantly post these:

I was thinking about this little retcon for Enterprise after watching this video by Two Bit Di Vinci:

Where instead of using hydroponics and protein resequencers, the NX-01 Enterprise uses aeroponics and cellular farming/precision fermentation.  And saying this is what also feeds the people of the Earth -- say 10-12 billion people -- especially since it used 80% less energy, 90% less water, 94% less feedstock, 99% less land.  Thereby leaving more than enough room for Picard's vineyard without any real consequence:

And aeroponics is said to be able to be done in a thirty story building, so no real need to travel long distances.  So don't be surprised if that's what's in the background:

Despite the terraforming of the Mohave desert:

But Star Trek: Enterprise that aired in 2001, the video was made recently.  But since aeroponics was first invented in 1957, very few sci-fi writers probably heard about it, and were probably hearing more and more about the hype around hydroponics around the time.  Especially with Babylon 5: The Gathering in 1993, Earthstar Voyager in 1988, and before.

Alternatively, they took costs into consideration.

Not only hydroponics/aeroponics, but how often has many old time science fiction that still takes place in today's future looks pretty antiquated?

Despite the fact that the Reliant's wifi passcode is only 5 digits, having something like wifi passcode in 1982 is something at the time is pretty futuristic that probably was unheard of at the time.  Not to mention Scotty hacking Space Dock's door controls.

Often science fiction inspires these devices we use today like cell phones and MRI's, tablets and saying, "Hey, Siri," as opposed to saying, "Computer."

When we watch the documentary/comedy, How William Shatner Changed The World (2005), these aren't exactly predictions over Trek's technology being seen today, rather they're inspirations for inventors.  And even then, there are some things that even Star Trek -- or any other form of science fiction -- that they couldn't even predict.

And this is after watching this video from Watchmojo:
