Finally something GOOD I've drawn since forver. Plus challenging!Well this'll be the first book in a while that Zinggles will be proud that I have read and hopefully happy of my portrayal of the characters. Afterall, it IS steampunk. And no... this is NOT YAOI or SLASH. Deryn is a girl in the air service. Alek is a boy/prince on the run. This equals epicness. They're from Leviathan by Scott Westerfeld

This quote is from The Gemma Doyle Trilogy but I felt it befitting for this scene between Alek and Deryn during Behemoth when Deryn finally tells about her Da. Plus the whole gender secrecy rears its head in this scene and even Alek confesses secrets. And it bonds them together, yet Deryn pulls away being "drowned" by her own secrets. Y'get it?

That quote is perfect for them and I absolutely loved that part of the book. This really is an absolutely beautiful picture, I really hope these two get their happy ending (especially how at the end of WWI there was no Austria-Hungary which means that Alek won't have to be emperor anymore- if Mr. Westerfield makes it end up like that, of course.)

That part of the book had to be one of the more emotional parts. Same! I really just want Goliath to come out to see what happens to these two. I don't know how Mr. Westerfeld is going to mix up the history. He's already shown that he can and will what with the Ottoman empire, but I can see him either splitting up Austria-Hungry, or I can even see Volger as taking Alek's place and Alek being with Deryn.

I especially love how Deryn thought that Alek knew her secret and that he was in love with her, when he was actually talking about the ship. When I read that part for the second time I laughed out loud. The poor girl, she's really having a horrible time of it, lawl.
I never even considered Volger taking Alek's place, but I suppose that it could happen. I honestly have no idea how Alek is going to find out about Deryn being a female and all, or how he's going to take it. I think that it really depends on how he finds out honestly.
I don't know, I just can't wait until Goliath comes out!

haha I know! At least it's one step closer to Alek accepting Darwinist creations! Japan will only be chalk-full of them! Deryn will be driven insane by the time Alek figures out. Alek is just so dense when it comes to girls and girls pretending to be boys. There are so many ways it can play out for his reaction and how he'll find out but I know even with all the theories and fanfics people have written, Goliath won't disappoint!!! Ah. Why is it only March?!

Same. I don't know why they're so addicting. I think it's the characters and how they interact and the twist of history (only if history was like that, it'd be MUCH more interesting). October seems so far away! I wish it'd come sooner!

I know! Steampunk is so cool. Why can't that be real life? And you're right, the characters are really great, it's well written and exciting enough to keep your attention without being overwhelming. It's just a superb example of reading excellence in every way. <3

Yeah. I Just saw your Secret drawing, and it's phenomenal. No doubt you'll be able to pull of this scene. And yes, this scene was amazing. Quite sentimental and Alek, for the most part, wasn't totally oblivious the complete time.
