Made for my sister's 30th Birthday.For the record, this was never meant to be photo-realistic.

The shading for the skin was done in Photoshop where blur filters were applied. The freckles and the earrings were also done in Photoshop. Everything else was done in Illustrator.

The blur filters applied on the skin don't look nice, if you really must do something to smooth it, I suggest the smudge tool, or even better, learn to use gradients to shade, or do it by brush. But as a vector, it's best to keep it sharp and clear

That is a darn good vector art! I love the way you did it. This motivates me to do another vector. It's nice to see some actual art besides all this anime stuff. I don't hate that art but goodness it's all anyone ever post these days. Not even traditional cartoon style.

Indeed, this is a very pretty picture. Personally, I am glad to see that some folks still make true "art." I'm not knocking manga/anime, but they dominate this website. It's nice to see something that required some imagination. I'm sure your sister was pleased with the rendition. It looks both real and cartoony at the same time. I'm sure the effects you added softened up the appearance. If there is anything you can improve on, I'd only suggest not leaving it on a white background. Background and settings are something that I struggle with, so many of my pictures are just the subject over some words and a gradient. Perhaps you could play off of the flower in her hair to put something in the back. Just a thought. Otherwise, I think it is very well done.

About the background, my aunt wanted this to go on her invitations, so she didn't want a background.
I feel the same way about the manga/anime, but when I come across a really good one, I fave it.
