Description I'm posting this just because it bothers me that I wasted my time yesterday to finish it

But I hate it.

That's why I'm almost always drawing asian people. Western faces are too hard to me..

This was supposed to be Ian Somerhalder, in a gorgeous pic where he portrays Damon Salvatore.

It doesn't even look slightly like him.. -.-" It reminds me of a young John Travolta.. -.-

I think this is one of my most epics fails.. Y^Y

I'll probably move it to scraps soon..

Are you Kidding me? I recognized Damon from a stack of other drawings on another site...I think it's a great likeness and do not see Travolta in the least...keep up the good work....

Don't you dare move it to scraps. Loving this! And, yes, it looks more like Damon than John Travolta. It's a fantastic representation of Damon! And I love the blue shadowed colors. Excellent choice to match his ice crystal eyes!

I knew who it was the instant I saw him. You got something about the eye/brows right, I think---his eyes are so distinctive.

Even if you don't like it I find it really great. And it does look like Ian (maybe his nose could be a bit bigger here),his eyes and that evil grin is definitely like Damon's! Nice

Oh,no problem It's awesome portrait. And I know,sometimes you can't see your own mistakes since you spend so much time on a drawing but when some other random person notices them and tells you,then you can see it too (that happens to me a lot )But that's what dA community is for,right?

i think it looks great! a very different style from you. you shaded everything without leaving any whites, that give a lot of depth while blending him into the dark background. i like the in-the-dark creepy feeling

aww, don't move it to scraps, i think it's great!

i need to draw more western faces. their features are so defined and beautiful!

Yeah "defined and beautiful"..sometimes
I totally like asian features more! But it's probably because I always see western faces everyday and everywhere and unfortunately almost only actors are beautiful

Anyway I think I'll draw more non-asian people too..even if I don't like them as much it's a good way to practice..

hahahaha! ya, i'm the opposite, i see asian faces everyday. hahaha!

yup, i agree too, drawing things that you don't like can be a good practice. like me, i hate drawing environment, but environment plays an important role in drawings. so keep drawing will make myself improve as well
