This is another experiment in fast coloring (well, a little faster than usual) starting with a grayscale underbase for light values then adding color on top.TMNT property of Viacom/Nickelodeon

I love the intensity! (Pun borderline intentional) He's practically burning into the viewer's soul. I really like this coloring style. It looks like a combination of chalk pastels and color pencils. Brilliant, I love it!

Thanks! This could be directed at the foot or any villain really with Leo staring them down in hopes of intimidation. Though, if they're bold enough, they might not buy it and just laugh it off. Yeah well, it's their funeral. It's all digital but if it looks traditional, that's cool to. I wanted it to have a more organic look.
Yes, it's glad to come back to a place where my talent is realized unlike certain places where you're completely ignored. What an irritating dilemma.

You improved quite a lot (or maybe just with this new method maybe?) but this looks even better than usual! I'm impressed by how realistic the lighting feels, very 3D feel and the textures are just great!

You should definitely try it. I picked up some of these techniques from this guy John Mueller bigpigink.blogspot.com/ I'm not sure if you can still find his live tutorials on his blog but that's where I saw it.
I guess the key is to be loose when you start out and then slowly refine your work as you go, making sure to get the proper lighting for your subject. Color comes last.
Thanks! I can see I'm getting better but some days are better than others when it comes to art. I guess it all depends how motivated and passionate you are about what you're doing.
As for textures, they can really help to make your piece look a little more realistic. You can find them all over the place really but you have to strike a balance between having too much or too little.

Cool! Thanks! The eyes were the main focus so if that's what caught your attention, that's good. I added a dark layer over top of everything and then erased that part of the layer where the eyes are so they have a brightness to them.
