Description I finally went into the museum in Animal Crossing City Folk, and noticed this weird plant...
This instantly came to mind, I know its cheezy, but whatever.

LOL!

That is probably just a rafflesia flower. In real life, the flower is the only part of the body that would show up. The rest just invades the innards of other plants.

Vileplume is A-OK!

Yay! I was worried there for a while.
It is funny that it appeared in the museum, but never in the game. They should have made some sort of mention to it.

Ahem, I'm about to sound like Wikipedia now so you might want to skip this...

Rafflesia is a south-east Asian (my corner of the world) plant discovered by Sir Stamford Raffles (who happens to be my country's founder) in 19?? (pfffff). And - okay, I've had enough of sounding like an encyclopedia!!!!

P.S.
ALWAYS HOLD YOUR NOSE WHEN WALKING PAST THIS!!!!!!! Why? BECAUSE IT IS THE LARGEST AND SMELLIEST FLOWER IN THE WORLD!!!!!!! IT SMELLS LIKE ROTTEN MEAT!!!!!

And no, I've never smelled it and I definitely don't want to.

if you have alot of weeds in your town, this super weed will pop up. the only way to get rid of it is to kill all of the weeds in the town. after 3 days, the super weed will die.

AnimalCrossingJenny In reply to nintendoloz [2011-04-08 18:02:05 +0000 UTC]

I'm guessing Nintendo did that on purpose... like an ad for Pokemon or something, and maybe they wanted to see if any of the fans who play AC would notice? I'm not sure what they were trying to do...

nintendoloz In reply to AnimalCrossingJenny [2011-04-10 21:28:41 +0000 UTC]

Well, it may have just been a coincidence...
It would be cool to find out if it was intentional, but I'm not sure if there's any way of finding out.

AnimalCrossingJenny In reply to nintendoloz [2011-04-15 00:14:47 +0000 UTC]

Awww... D: I was hoping I could find out...

I wish there was a way to contact Nintendo and ask them a few questions about the games they make. It's really intresting how they think up of this stuff.

Thier game designing is done really well.

DroseAttack [2010-07-13 12:21:41 +0000 UTC]

there is a real (but rare) flower that actually strongly resembles the size and patterns of a vileplume's flower. I don't remember the name because it only has one of those scientific classification names.

but then again animal crossing is still nintendo so it might just be a funny cameo.

Been a while since you've posted something.
Curious to see that Animal Crossing has a lot of diversity.

And yes, that flower is the Rafflesia.
Guess it's the one that gave Vileplume its claim to fame...or is it the other way around, I wonder?
