Description
Although not quite as big as sarcophaganax imperator, therosaurus titanovenator is still an impressive subterramundus tyrannosaur. Therosaurus, as its second name suggests, is a titanosaur specialist like the extinct carcharodontosaurs. Like them, therosaurus has a long head with thinner blade-like teeth as opposed to the thicker crushing teeth of its close relatives. This allows the therosaurus to slice off chunks of flesh from still living titanosaurs which are its near exclusive prey. Although they prefer young individuals, therosaurus in prime condition are capable of taking down weakened adults of the largest titanosaurs with their thick armoured hide, feathered back and loose neck skin affording them protection from the fierce blows of titanosaur tails.
Like their relatives, they employ their short arms as meat hooks to inflict additional damage to their prey.
Males of the species use deep echoing bellows and inflatable neck sacs to impress mates. Pairs will stay together to raise many clutches of 5 to 10 young.
