Description Wheeler, the power of fire....that he, mostly, controls. Remember all the times he burned himself? It wasn't often, but it was funny how he was the most "clusmy" ย of the rest, almost like everyone watched the tutorial on how to use your ring, and he just slept through it. Cuz, ya know, he's American, and Americans are lazy. lol I just love how 'stereotypical' this show was. Ahh the 90s.

Credit to for this series commission.
Model is actress Allison Scagliotti.

I think Claudia has enough problems with Warehouse 13 without adding bending/etc to them

A marvelous piece of work! Hope my constant barrage of suggestions didn't wear you down too much while working on it.

I never thought of it at the time, but it's pretty clear Wheeler (and his relative dumb-ness) is intended as a form of audience-identification figure (which should have been obvious given it was made and aired in the US). He's always asking about what's going on and getting things explained to him (like the companions on Doctor Who), he's there so that the lesson(s) and issue(s) can be described to the audience and we can all Learn Something Important.

Of course, even the other Planeteers are generally better-informed and/or more insightful about what's going on than Wheeler. The portrayal is like, despite controlling the most overtly destructive weaponry, Americans are still so self-absorbed and obtuse that they're unfocused--or worse, unaware--of the sorts of things that actually matter and/or have consequences in the world. Thank goodness that was just a '90s phase...can you imagine what the world would be like today if we Americans had continued in that mindset for the last decade or so?

Haha, no, not at all. These commissions with you have been a joy to work on! ^_^

I hope that last point was a bit of sarcasm. The more I learn about things the world does vs. things the U.S. does, the more I see that while we have, almost, total access to information, we simply suck on the knowledge nipple of the government or interest groups. Advertising seems to run this country and even though we're supposed to be the most "free" country in the world, we ridicule, flame, and destroy any ideal that doesn't identically match with ours. We have this attitude of "whatever works for you" and "no judgement here", but we can't talk politics or religion in almost any official capacity. We're so arrogant with our "top of the world" mentality, that we refuse to see just how badly we are declining. We're the land of the free, but we cannot fathom nudity equaling beauty, only sexuality. We do our absolute best to make a show out of 'safety' in our policies, yet in reality they protect no one and only inconvenience those we're supposed to protect. I guess it's just that in the 90's we were openly subtle about our idiocy and arrogance, whereas now, we're even more arrogant and so wrapped up in "political correctness" that 90's shows would be deemed offense now. We're beyond learning from history, we're denying it to a point that we don't even recognize those people any more.

Sorry for the rant, lol.

Heh, no worries. I was deliberately phrasing my point in a cheeky sarcastic fashion, but by the time I was done I realized I'd just made myself sad. Back to cheezy fun times, eh?

Really?
I kinda thought she made the show.
She's smart and sassy, and she has problems with authority.ย  But her heart is in the right place.ย  Sounds like a good role model for todays disenfranchised youth.
