Actually I think it goes more to the "opposites attract" archetype, played up because of the U.S.A. vs U.S.S.R. distinction between the two (not to mention, Linka is basically representing Europe via the eastern bloc--that's pretty much the *origin* of the term "caucasian"). Though they had one thing in common...stubbornness. While Wheeler was generally an ignorant goofball in his approach, Linka was brusquely arrogant. At least she was usually right, but she really could've been less abrasive when explaining things to the doofus.And let's not forget, as nostalgic as we may be, it was pretty much an engineered-for-kid-audience show. More than one romantic pairing would've been too much, and to be fair I don't think they ever did much with Wheeler and Linka beyond adversarial flirting anyway.Oh yeah, the pic...terrific job!
