Description I love how Linka was that no-nonsense kinda girl, and how she and Wheeler (the total-nonsense kinda guy) were the only love interest on the show. This comes back to the 90s sterotype. The U.S. character gets a love interest, and it's a girl that, outside of her accent, basically *looked* american. In reality, Gi would be fought over by Kwame and Ma-Ti (unless we went REALLY adult themed, if you know what I m3an). And why not? She's cute, smart, and loves the planet as much as those two. Though I'd imagine nothing would last long with Ma-Ti. The power of heart was said to be able to hear and *feel* others thoughts and feelings. He should have been on suicide watch, from day 1! Also, if you don't think Linka should have been able to fly with The Power of Wind, then how did Captain Planet fly? ^_-.

Anna Semenovich was all 's idea. And he made an excellent suggestion! I enjoy her earlier modeling career, and wished that would have taken off a bit more. She is quite beautiful and really brings Linka to life.

Actually I think it goes more to the "opposites attract" archetype, played up because of the U.S.A. vs U.S.S.R. distinction between the two (not to mention, Linka is basically representing Europe via the eastern bloc--that's pretty much the *origin* of the term "caucasian"). Though they had one thing in common...stubbornness. While Wheeler was generally an ignorant goofball in his approach, Linka was brusquely arrogant. At least she was usually right, but she really could've been less abrasive when explaining things to the doofus.
And let's not forget, as nostalgic as we may be, it was pretty much an engineered-for-kid-audience show. More than one romantic pairing would've been too much, and to be fair I don't think they ever did much with Wheeler and Linka beyond adversarial flirting anyway.

Oh yeah, the pic...terrific job!
