Story: During the invasion of Apokalips and final battle against Darkseid, Barry Allen sacrifices itself to save everyone, after the battle the League being disbanded, the Batman going to the middle East to face the Trials of the Demon, leaving Dick in charge of Wayne Industries and to take care of stuff while he is away, Superman is confronting a group of people claiming to also be from Krypton, Wonder Woman tracing with A.R.G.U.S the reincarnations of the Gods, Aquaman facing against his treatorous brother as he tries to take his kingdom for himself, GL is investigating on Oa the appearence of the Blue Lantern Power Battery and Martian Manhunter is currently in Mars trying to create new life on the dead planet. 5 months after the dissbanding of the JLA, in the maximum security prison known as the Raft, Edward Brock is interviewing Captain Danvers of ARGUS, majorly discussing with her the themes about her opinions on the last few months and what happened arround the major superhero and normal community.
Meanwhile, in the New York Power Central, a mysterious portal oppened, out of it a mysterious yellow man emanated causing the city to blackout, including the Raft, which allowed the start of a breakout. This blackout would garner the attention of the surrounding area heroes, the first ones to get to the Raft being Wally West, Quicksilver, and Peter Park, Spider-Man.
As soon as other heroes like The Atom, Hawkeye, Blue Beetle and even Nightwing got to the Raft, the breakout had further expanded, many dangerous criminals like Photon and Dawrfstar having managed to escape the presinct, the very few group of remaining alive guards, Spider-Man, Quicksilver and Captain Marvel mostly trying to keep a low amount of prisioners inside the Raft. As ARGUS managed to get the situation on hold, another major event was caused on Central City, a event of such magnitude to garner the attention of the 7 of them.
This event turned out to be a fabrication by the causant of the breakout, the Reverse Flash, purposely trying to garner their attention. Thawne before this events had been going from time to time, everywhere he ended on garnering the attention and trying to not only return to his time, but also to kill the man he once idoled, the Flash. This time causing the Breakout, unknowing to him that the Flash, the Flash he knew, Barry Allen, had died months ago, the only clossest thing left was being Wally West.
Even though, Thawne didn't care, as long as he could prove himself better than the Flash, any of them, he would anything to prove that he always wins, raining on the seven of them. Eobard proved a challenge to them, the only ones to truly prove a match to him being Spider-Man, Wally and Atom.
Thawne would constantly tease every of them, he being from the future knowing their stories, their legacies, their mistakes, not only attacking them physically, but also in ther minds. Reminding them of their every mistake, be it their dead uncle, a friend they lossed, families that would not return or even their mistakes as a person and a hero, Thawne would always remind them of everything they caused. This was further stopped as Wally would further tap into his speed, clashing with Eobard up until they would both fall into the Speed Force.
In the Speed Force, Eobard and Wally would be equally matched, fighting on what was basically their timeline, their past, present and future, all at once. Every punch one made, the other gave back, and would be like that up until out of nothing, a being made out of light would take Thawne and caused him to dissapear into the Speed Force itself, the only thing this being had arround his body besides the energy he was made out being a particular metallic ring, a ring with a lightning bolt as a mark. Wally would leave the Speed Force, returning to the world he knows.
Days later, the news would be filled not only by the breakout in the Raft, but also of the many individuals that appeared to help, a group that in this particular rather dark time, would fight the foes and battles no single person would fight alone, instating the idea of a new team of protectors, a group that would protect the world, and if they weren't able to save it, they would surely avenge it. With funding from Kord Industries and Dick Grayson, the seven of them would become Earth's Mightiest Heroes, the Avengers.
