Thage knows he is in charge, and will quite furiously fight anyone who believes otherwise. He obeys no other word than his own- (Aside from Kamar's ruler, of course.) And is extremely firm in his ways; he appreciates banter- but when he is in a foul mood, beware; he is a remarkably curt and short-tempered man, and does not tolerate insubordination amongst his ranks. Despite his hot temper, he balances brain and brawn wth his tactics; he realises not all serious problems can be solved with violence- even if he would like to think so. That being said, he isn't above beating his enemies into a paste to get what he wants in life; and is all for solving disputes with fist-fighting. Akin to this, Thage is rather conniving; content to gain items/gold/wealth through thievery and deception; as well as unfair bargain.
As a Captain, he expects all to accet his rule and not to test his patience; with a short fuse- he wants work done, and done in time; the place and time for drinking is later. Which, of course; he is quite content to participate in. It's not uncommon to see him drinking and gambling in his spare time; though he is fairly good at keeping a safe latch on his coin purse; don't try anything, he'll take notice. That being said- He can be remarkably doltish when drunk, it's not uncommon for him to engage in ridiculous games- Such as strip-gambling. Don't get the Captain naked, nobody wants to see his ass. (It's nice though.)
▶ History:
To keep it short and sweet;
Born in Kamar, Thage grew in the roughs; working with his father on board a fishing vessel- He was introduced to a lacking of law almost immediately; crime was rife in his surroundings- And gradually, he took on the lifestyle that surrounded him. It became easier to involve himself in crime, and it pushed him apart from his family in correspondence.
As he drifted from his family, he branched further into varied employment; with genuine means of payment becoming harder and harder to come by, he settled with working as a crew member on board one of the local vessels; though it steadily became apparent that indeed- this was no mere fishing vessel. Pillaging and wealth-seeking was common for the Captain, and instead of turning away from such a life; he relished it. Working up the ranks until he decided it was time enough to start something of his own; thus, the start of The Dragon's Cutlass. (More TBA)
▶ Extra information:
- It's remarkably uncommon to find him one-hundred percent sober, never drunk during work days- But he does have a canteen of liquor on him almost all the time.
- Doesn't wear clothes when he sleeps; don't interrupt him when it's evening if you don't want to run the risk of seeing all... that.
- Adores golden trinkets, though he does not wear many; rings and few piercings are all he displays.
- Can read and write at an average level, though he often allows his other trusted crewmembers to aid him in certain.. documentation, when needed.
- Has several tattoos, the majority are below his attire; one of his ship's flag- (Dragon's skull with cutlass through mouth.)
- Is often injured in some manner.
- Grows his beard out at sea, otherwise he shaves it upon return to land- He's silly.
- Has a huge, ridiculous hat with a feather. Don't touch it, he loves it.
- Scars, man. Lots of them.
