It's a little difficult to see where the castle ends and the grimey environment begins, but I have to say that this was a pretty appropriate title.

Man, you art is getting better and better, keep this up'n'coming! Nice you're improving your art style.

One thing that I love about pieces like this one is the mood/atmosphere. Also, your attention for details is superb. AND the epic factor it just outstanding. Another little great thing is how you tell many parallels "stories" in one piece of art. You have a foreground scene and many in background supporting the foreground one, this link is just fantastic. You know, like background is not just laying there for beauty, it serves purpose for the entire scene.

I think you could, if you see fit of course, play with a "dynamic light" style to see how it goes with your style (like rays of light "piercing" through shadowed areas, also some sparkle), I think it would look legendary

Such an in-depth review of my work! I'm pleased indeed, thank you good sir. Epic and atmosphere is what I have been going for ever since I started because these two things can really speak to me when I feel them in artwork. I have quite a journey ahead of me, but as long as at least few nice people tell me they like my work and that I'm getting better, I'm cool with that.

As for the story in my picture I always try to create an entire, somewhat working world, it's not an easy task but it's fun and rewarding.

Good point with light man, I want to work hard on that, my understanding of colors is still far from desired but practice makes perfect hopefully.

Thanks for nice feedback again man, if you want me to review / criticize anything just throw it at me.

"Epic and atmosphere is what I have been going for ever since I started because these two things can really speak to me when I feel them in artwork."

Exactly! Same for me. Since we share this artistic viewpoint, I would like to share with you some great artists that greatly inspire me, and have a huge impact of my very own definition of epic, mood and atmosphere, hope you enjoy their work as much as I do:

Tsutomu Nihei - I recommend Biomega (my favorite of his works), and BLAME!, also great. The epic structures that he draws are breathtaking.
David Revoy (also a GIMP and MyPaint user!) - His work with the Sintel movie was just amazing.
Raphael Lacoste - Dude behind most of the Prince of Persia Game series concept art. His also have a dA account!

I know all these! No coincidence I guess since we have similar preferences. Sintel was quite amazing, I loved the story.

LOVE IT!! The hillock in the upper right background looks like it has eyes! Makes you think the whole castle is some kind of freaky living thing waiting to swallow fire sword! REALLY REALLY GOOD!

You environment-making beast! As DaNite said before, you are getting better. I strongly encourage you to get some reference, because despite overall awesome mood I am distracted by the girl's anatomy (or the strangeness of it).

Hm, I think she is too long and slender. Her shoulders seem to be too narrow, whereas her back is too short. You could also emphasise her natural curves. If you have some problems with figures and gestures I recommend characterdesigns.com. They have awesome photosets. Of course posemaniacs are great too. Hope it helps

Every one of your landscapes I see (and I do look at every one that comes by) you're getting better, man, and this is no exception. The girl/effeminate man at the bottom of the screen does seem to have some anatomical problems around the waist, and the lights to the left could have been more subtly represented then with big bloody glows, but other then that there not much "wrong" with it.

I love the landscape, very reminiscent of being underwater/in a swamp, and the minor details do not go unnoticed. Love the subtle use of texturing to really get in the rough look of the place, and that begotten cathedral-esque building in the distance is, well, an interesting thing to look at.

Overall, brilliant job, man.

That's a great feedback! Thanks man. I'm really glad you like the atmosphere and that you noticed that particular building. I'll try to be more creative with lights next time, maybe some nice lanterns Thanks again.
