I love the silhouette of the ship and the overall mood of this. I am amazed to read this was all done in illustrator!

Great work

Whoa that eerie silent lonely feeling is amazing....in this pic! Man why did everyone else have to die except the cap?

Well, I think everyone else actually abandoned ship. The Captain probably should have too.

There is an eerie, sad feel to it.
The battle is over.
My ship is dead.
I'm still here.
Why?

I think it would be more apparent that the ship isn't completely submerged if the reflection were made to look more like a reflection and less like a continuance of the ship. Maybe the reflection needs to be screened back some or something... I dunno. If I did, my work would look like yours. Nice work. Damned nice work.

LOL. You lazy bugger. "It's sunk up to its portholes" a.k.a. "I realised I could just flip the image and make it a mirror/reflection! YES! Pure GENIUS!"

...It's still awesome. Darn it.

It doesn't matter what level it had sunk to, I could have done the same thing. Actually the portholes complicated things, because I had to mask stuff.

shweet. two questions tho. first, why is the ship stopped at the portholes? second, is that nother ship behind the fog?

nice piece.

As it says in the description, the ship has hit the mud. And yes, there are two other ships in the background.

The subtle details (fog, mist, reflection patterns, lone seagull) denote an air of mystery. Mesmerising.

Excellent piece. The fact that this was created in Illustrator amazes me, since I find Illustrator a little bit awkward to use.

I like your explanation of the piece, but I don't really think the captain standing there looks right. I think it would of been a hell of a lot better to simply show the sole light on, as you have, and viewers would automatically think the captain was inside this room. The way you've done it makes it look almost as if the ship isn't underwater at all, because there you have the captain, outside.

Great piece, though.

The ship isn't underwater, it's sunk to level of the porholes.

There are a lot of tricks to getting things looking good in Illustrator that very few people seem to use, like transparency settings.

I'm sorry. I completely missed the fact that the entire ship wasn't underwater. Silly me.

Great picture, i ever like those military things (even if idon't like their use) they are heavy, sharps and full of metal. I very like also the very cold and quiet, i'm just waiting to see some ghost.
Great work !
