So many of the lolita brands have been coming out with book dresses recently, I've been dying to make my own. A few months ago I finally found book print fabric that I liked on Spoonflower.com [link] so I ordered some and it sat in my stash for a while. At first I was going to make the bodice out of black velvet fabric, but I became concerned that if I wanted to wear it in the summer it would be too hot, so I instead used black cotton sateen scraps that I had laying around from my Renaissance skirt. There is one pocket in the right side seam. I was going to do two pockets, but I tried that on my kimono print jumperskirt (photos coming soon!) and the seam with the zipper turned out a bit messy, and I didn't want that to happen with this jumperskirt since the rest of it is so cleanly tailored.

I'm so excited that this is done now and I want to wear it like every single day. Or at least every other day...
