Yeah - that toning encompasses a film emulation - Kodak Tri-X, I think. So there is a grainyness about it as well as the slight tint.
Many Thanks

So this Kodak Tri-X film will add grain to the photo...?
You are very welcome David...

Steven - The emulations of the original films within Silver Efex Pro appear to be very good. I suppose only an expert film stock photographer could give a real verdict, but Tri-X was a fairly high grain film such that you would be able to see areas with the grain. The emulation allows you to vary the hardness and amount of grain, although I use the default values.

I may have to try this film out...wonder what it would look like a red or yellow filter...?
Thanks for the info David...

Steven - I checked and the emulation I used in this particular filter was Kodak Plus X 125 P8 Pro, rather than the Tri-X. I'm not sure that particular film is still available but the Tri-X is ==> en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kodak_Tr… . As far as grain is concerned, the Tri-X400 would normally be the film of choice. I checked the emulation with red and yellow filters and the red tones down the sky by about 1-2 stops, the yellow by about 0.5 to 1 stop.

saw and handled the M5 at the canon roadshow but it hasn't arrived here yet...... some great textures

Some pros and cons with the M5 - too much noise in low light conditions unless you keep the ISO way down, less than 800. But, OTOH, excellent with EF lenses via the adapter ring - very fast response. Good for wildlife providing it does not move too quickly, with a 9 frame per second continuous shoot! Slightly bigger than I had thought so not really a slip-in-the-pocket camera. Overall, a good companion for the 5D Mark III.

Well, that is a good point, Canan, but substitute Scottish for English and you would be there. The scene is reminiscent of many a Bronte or Austen setting, but this is in South West Scotland, and has changed very little from the times of Burns and S R Crocket, both of whom wrote about this area.
Many Thanks.

Devastation ... it's the first word that came to my mind. I like the soft, almost velvety texture of the image.
