Description

Before I get to the next new model, I have to correct an error:

In the last picture I showed a Concord-Class next to a Daedalus DSE-304.(So the scientific variant of the Daedalus-Class battlecruiser.)

This picture seemed strange to me.

In short, I gave the wrong measurements in the original description of the Concord-Class.

I had indicated as size 1192×385×170 meters. In fact, that's the size of the Guardian-Angel-Class. These two ship classes are by no means the same size.

The actual dimensions of the Concord-Class are: 659.5 meters long (714 meters with the sensors at the bow), 415 meters wide and 216.6 meters high. (the "pyramid”-segment alone is 140 meters high)

SORRY

But now we come to the newest class of the SGC and the DeSCa: the Legate-Class.

The Legate-Class is a 122×67.2×28.9 meter multi-purpose spaceship.

Like the Concord-Class and the Equanimity-Class, the Legate-Class consists of two segments.

The rear half, the "stern-segment", contains all the technology necessary for the flight: one drive unit each for the sublight and for the FTL flight, deflectors and shields, navigation sensors, main computers and life support systems.

For the front half, the "bow-segment", several different versions are available. Thus, the "stern-segment" can be equipped before each mission with the necessary for the respective mission "bow-segment".

Three ships with different versions of the "bow-segment" can be seen in the picture above. From left to right these are: the "Courier" version, the "Ambassador" version and the "Patrol" version.

The Legate Class with the "Courier" version is used to deliver messages and commands.

Courier ships are always used when conventional communication systems are considered too unreliable or dangerous.

The "Courier-bow-segment" contains additional energy storage, generators, navigation systems and sensor array, which give the "courier" ships a much greater acceleration, maximum speed and range.

In addition, the Legate-Class can navigate with this segment even under the most adverse conditions.

Moreover, there are still the so-called "information safes" on board. These are individual information stores that each have individual security features, such as encryption tailored to each storage crystal.

This is to make it more difficult for enemy forces to access the information, even if they manage to steal an "information safe". Because no two "safes" have the same safety features.

If these devices ever fall into enemy hands. Of course, all "information safes" have a self-destruct function.

However, the "courier" segment is only designed for a crew of four. Additional persons can only be transported with very strong restrictions.

The "ambassador" segment transforms the Legate-Class into a flying embassy or convention center.

On two floors, each with an area of 600 m², there are several cabins for the DeSCa mediators, their employees and the expected guests, as well as several conference rooms.

All of these rooms can be adapted to specific environmental conditions if required.

In addition, the "ambassador" segment has fully automated translators in all rooms as well as a computer system that contains a database of information about all cultures and languages.

Of course, extensive communication systems, various sensor array and analysis facilities are available.

The "patrol" version transforms the Legate-Class into a high performance patrol ship and scout.

In addition to the sensor array of the IUSP installed in the "stern-segment", this "bow-segment" is equipped with three all-sided universal emitters.

These give the ship an impressive enlightenment ability and the necessary combat power.

In this configuration, the Legate-Class is classified as a corvette.

The two segments are connected by lateral brackets to allow the fastest possible change of the "bow-segment". The brackets are clearly visible on all three ships on the side.

Unlike the Equanimity-Class and the Concord-Class, the two Legate-Class segments can not be considered functional when disconnected.

Although the "stern-segment" has an emergency control room. With the help of this emergency control room you can fly the ship in case of emergency, but only to the nearest friendly base.

For more, this "replacement bridge" is not capable.

The "bow-segments" are conceived as large rescue capsules. However, this only gives these segments very limited flying abilities.

As a size comparison, you'll see a Concord-Class docked on an all-new Encouragement Class space station behind the three ships.

With a diameter of 980 meters and a height of 426 meters, these space stations serve the SGC as depots for relief supplies of all kinds: emergency rations, medicines, medical equipment, blankets, emergency shelters, but also construction equipment and much more.

These depots store everything that the most humanoids need in a planetary emergency situation.

The three Legate-Class ships accompany the Concord-Class to just such a planetary emergency.

An earthquake has caused a humanitarian catastrophe on the planet Ceuthea. Therefore, the DeSCa sends SGC units with supplies of all kinds to the planet.
