The Unmanned Reconnaissance Aerial Vehicle (URAV), designated Taar Fa (speaker's note: angel wings), is the JNA's standard drone for unmanned reconnaissance flights, from low-level to suborbital (speaker's note: suborbital flight altitude = 80-320 km above sea level).
The Taar Fa is primarily used for reconnaissance of continental areas when, for whatever reason, allied orbital operating vehicles (speaker's note: satellites or spacecraft) are not available.
The secondary mission of the Taar Fa is to establish a temporary planetary tracking network using multiple Taar Fa-type drones to improve the navigation of allied forces on alien worlds and also to control RGVs and precision weapons systems. Ultimately, the Taar Fa also serve as communication relays, with the help of which communication between the JNA and allies is greatly improved even under the most difficult conditions (speaker's note: enemy jamming, natural interference sources, etc.).
The Taar Fa thus combines the tasks of the RQ-25F "Telshaka Pri" and the RQ-16D "Pritada" URAVs of the Union forces in one vehicle.
For these tasks, the Taar Fa has a powerful Empal'tel Ellrupalka Ellshaar gravimetric engine, which allows the drone to reach a top speed of 44,000 km/h. This allows the Taar Fa to reach at least suborbital altitudes from the ground under its own power on most M-class worlds, including those with increased gravity.
The Taar Fa does not have a hyperdrive system, as it is intended for pure planetary to maximum suborbital use, but not for interstellar reconnaissance.
The bow-mounted sensor array consists of a high-power Ruka Ka Metaarjaf (speaker's note: Guard Mk XII), which is the JNA equivalent of the IUSP's Multispectral Tactical Electronic Warning and Control System. The Ruka system enables wide-area battlefield observation and EW/ECM operations on a planet.
Surveillance of surrounding space within an astronomical unit radius, as is possible with the MUTEWACS, model PSIPKE1721, the RQ-16D "Pritada" URAV, is not possible with the Ruka system. The JNA sees this capability as unnecessary for a drone intended for planetary use. To that end, the Ruka system requires less space than the MUTEWACS, model PSIPKE1721.
Thus, other sensor systems can additionally fit in a Taar Fa. For example, the bow-mounted sensor array additionally contains a Jafpri Ka Yajaf'Metalar (speaker's note: Sentry Mk XXIII) medium-range multi-EM spectrum sensor unit for environmental and enemy analysis (speaker's note: ground conditions, climate, enemy armament, material analysis, etc.) as well as a Kametme Ka Emar (speaker's note: Watcher Mk IX) Active Electronically Scanned Array for targeted enemy reconnaissance and observation.
The rear sensor array consists of a Shaar Ka Iksak (speaker's note: Shaar, Dove-like bird of the planet Kaphus, Shaar Mk VIII) communications unit, which provides communications with allied units within a 4500 km radius and also serves as a relay unit for communications relay, and a Kajaf Ka Yajaf (speaker's note: Kajaf, Raven-like bird of the planet Thepra, Kajaf Mk XX) hyperspace communications relay. The Kajaf communications relay allows communication with allies via the Taar Fa to interplanetary and interstellar distances.
In summary, as mentioned earlier, the Taar Fa combines the tasks of the RQ-25F "Telshaka Pri" and the RQ-16D "Pritada" URAVs of the Union forces into one vehicle. The drone not only provides necessary reconnaissance for friendly and allied forces, but also represents an important coordination tool, as ground forces have an absolutely precise location option even without allied spacecraft in orbit, thanks to the GPS based on these drones.
In addition, the Taar Fa drone enhances, secures and expands the communications capabilities of allied forces.
Like its Union equivalents, the Taar Fa is completely unarmed and not suitable for combat operations. When threatened by enemy vehicles and missiles, the Taar Fa can only find protection with the help of electronic warfare measures and its own maneuverability.
