Appearance: Egil is a well-formed, upright horse with a physical similarity to a Barb horse . His face and legs are straight and he holds himself in the simple, un-imposing manner of one who is used to being of no consequence. His expressions are generally mild and watchful, and his mane and tail are thick and not very cared for, with dreadlocks and messy braids interspersed within them.

Personality: Egil is a bit of a mother-hen. He has a major soft spot for underdogs and those who he sees as being the rejects of society, which probably is why he declared himself the Reaper's personal medic. He has a very distinct moral code which dictates his actions and the way he reacts to others. He dislikes the way the main herd have seemingly written-off the Reapers – he knows the Reapers are doomed to break under pressure eventually but he makes it a point to make sure that, till the inevitable happens, they are well cared for and healthy.

Egil has what seems like endless patience where his patients are concerned – even with the prickliness of the Reapers, he never loses his temper or abandons them. As such, he has become a rare 'honorary' Reaper, in that he is one of the few allowed into their inner circle.

History: Egil was born in Norway to a local mother and an immigrant father. His life was normal and uneventful, however his father's origins had a significant effect on him and made him interested in the plight of refugees and displaced people. He spent most of his adult life working for various NGOs, taking up positions that allowed him to advocate for prisoners of war, political refugees, immigrant welfare and victims of human trafficking. His first death came while he was on-site in a warzone, where he was felled by unexpected shelling.

Laying there on the verge of death, he was approached by a strange creature – what looked to be a horse with a hollow chest. When the creature asked him, in a soft, whispery voice, what he would give to live again, Egil promptly agreed to do anything so long as he could resume his life's work.

When he woke up later in an army hospital, Egil thought it a strange dream and quickly shook it off, resuming his work in the field. He went on to found an organisation for displaced children and won a Nobel Peace Prize for his work before he succumbed to a distinguished death of old age.

As a Wraith, he adjusted very quickly to his new life, though he felt a bit displaced at first. He picked up work as a medic without much difficulty, but only truly came into his own when he met the Reapers and decided to become an advocate and guardian for them. After all, it was something like a continuation of his life's work with unwanted people.

Other Notes:
Egil has a soft spot for the Reapers and considers them 'his'. He knows the main herd disapproves of his choice to cater almost exclusively to the Reapers, but he is of the firm belief that they need a good doctor too – perhaps more than anyone else.

He lives in the Reaper cave with the Reapers and doesn't usually see much of the rest of the herd unless he needs a second opinion from the other medics.

He doesn't enjoy fighting, but he can hold his own in a fight. Egil usually goes along on missions with the Reapers to provide on-site aid to his boys, and his bright white markings make him easy to find event in the midst of battle.
