oh, sorry for the confusion - its just a technique you can use in watercolours: you put down one or more washes first - just dump the paint on, you know, and then you take a tissue and dab out some of the wet paint here and there. Or, once the paint has dried, you can use a damp brush and a tissue to lift out even more colour. Depending on the colours used you could work your way right down to the white of the paper. Can make for very nice effects.

As others have said, the colrs are wonderful. I don't think you went too bonkers with the washes since you managed to keep the lovely luminousity you have.

This one took me about 2 days - 1 day for the drawing which was rather a pain in the neck, and 1 day for the washes and detail.
