You're right of course - this wouldn't make any difference in Israel! But in WW2 in Britain women did not serve in the fighting forces but could be called up into the auxiliary services such as the ATS or the Women's Land Army.

But the women did help out back at base, managing all the military intelligence and relaying orders. XD
