I'm sorry you and other fans of Haku (and her family and friends) had to go through loosing her. I'm sure she would have been very touched to see this. I've only seen a few of her works but I didn't realize it until I clicked into her Kenshin folder. It makes me sad that such an amazing artist is gone.

And this makes me fall for Kenshin all over again, so gorgeous!

It is so sad, but at least Haku inspired so many before she passed. I think that matters a great deal.

Great way of expressing ur sorrow and sadness. I 2 lost a friend. She died exactly 4 months and 1 day ago. I loved her so much. I was her friend in real life and we meet over some blogs and destiny took us 2 the same school where we were sitting in the same bench for 4 years. I miss her so much. I drew a lot of pictures of her and us. I still can't belive she's gone. Every time I go to listen 2 some songs I end up crying.

I first found out about Hakubaikou when I was thirteen by stumbling across her fansite back in 2003. Her RK art was so beautiful, so realistic, and I aspired to one day be able to draw and color my work just like her.
Six years later, I found out about her death, and I became sad, knowing that I had never told her how much she had inspired me to become a better artist.
Now I spend my time trying to improve my style and work still, hoping to get better. It's been two years, and I feel like I haven't gotten any progress done. I won't stop though.

I think that she knew how inspiring she was to artists like you and me, as people had told her that all the time. I think that she will always be remembered and loved by the dA community.

Wow! Its a beautiful picture. And what it's all for is soo sad. I just became dA member this year so I have never seen her art or heard of her. I wish I had though.

I used photoshop to paint it. I use the smudge tool to smooth everything out after the rough sketch and then go over again with more details using a fine detail brush. Thank you.

Is there are words to describe how awesome this looks? Amazing work! Very beautiful.
A wonderful piece to commemorate a great person. A great artist who unfortunately is no longer with us. I hope she at peace now.

I had been in an artist rut for more than a year. What finally shook me out of it...was the news of Hakubaiko's passing. I met her at anime expo one year and thought she was the sweetest coolest artist around. I looked up to her and wanted to be just as good as her and I thought...one of these years, I'm gonna get a table at artist alley too and I'll give her a print of my pictures just like she gave me one of hers.
Needless to say I was heartbroken when I found out the news of her passing. Even now it still brings tears to my eyes. She loved my RK fanarts and always encouraged me to join the contest and I really wanted to one of these years, but I just never had time.
Well, I decided enough was enough. I have to make time. I'll get nowhere not even trying. We'll never get to see any more new works from her, so I will work harder to produce works on my end, because I know she enjoyed my work. So that's what I've been doing. Drawing till my hand cramped up and my right arm would hurt for a week. But I kept at it, till my body got used to it again. Heh, I hadn't done that in two years! I've finally finished some works that I had left hanging around for two to four years on my computer. That was a big accomplishment for me. I'm just so sad she didn't get to see them. And I've started new works that show how much I've improved my style.
Currently, things are on hold due to my mother breaking her ankle and me taking up all her house duties and taking care of her and my elderly father, but when I get back, I'll make sure to do something that will honor Haku. She was an inspiration in life and will continue to be so from now on.
That said, this is gorgeous. I love the different tones on his skin and hair. It makes it so real and magical at the same time. That flower is gorgeous too. My goodness, you are so talented! *bows* And oh, it just breaks my heart. Haku would've loved this! ;_;

I know what you mean completely. It is so sad, but I think she would be happy that she still helped you even in passing by getting you drawing again. You know about the tribute contest for haku? [link] It is for people like you who want to honor her in a way, and to find closure as much as it is for her.
I'm glad you like the picture... I know, it is sad that we need to loos something sometimes to find the creative spark that really brings out our potential...
Thank you for sharing you little story with me. I'm going to go see if this new art is up to look at in your account now. ^^
