for lack of a better title.Gulp. Attempt at realism number... I donno what... anyway, tell me if I'm getting there.
Kinda wish I went for humanizing a more believable character... it would have been easier. XD

This was the umpteenth attempt at it too I have to say before I got him to look the way I imagined him. Glad you see the same thing.

I would say that his right eye (I mean right from our point of view), which is a bit in the shadows looks good. But the other eye which is in full light seems to have an unnatural colour. I would say that at least the iris and pupil should look similar to the right eye, only with a more intense reflection. I hope you see what I mean and this is at least a bit helpful.

I see what you are saying. The color of eyes change with increasing intensity of light. It can be tricky. I'll look to see if I can play with that a bt more.

Wow, this looks unbelievably real..and just unbelievable period. This is one of the best ones you've done yet, I think. The emotion conveyed through his eyes, the very human look to his face, the background....this is just amazing.

You think so? It is pretty thick in the series, but in the OAV, it is pretty thin... I thought sword scars wouldn't be very big so I went with thin... besides the fact that it was easier to make that way. XD but it doesn't show up well when i put it on dA does it? I'll think about that, and thank you. ^_^x

so that's what he looks like un-anime like ;o I liked it.. the bottom of the nose looks a bit weird.. buuuuut all in all~<3 I also liked the background quite a bit

I made an upgrade to it... cause I wasn't finished when I put it up... but rather too impatient to wait until it was totally done... might make more slight changes. THe adjustments were so slight that most people wouldn't see it, but you might, since one of the things I changed a little was the nose? Tell me if this mysterious button is still there, if you would be so kind.

em... I think I get what you are talking about..? Are you referring to the line between light and dark? I thought maybe when you said button, you maybe meant the tip of the nose? Was that right? I donno! sorry, I'm probably just confusing myself... I appreciate your critique... so i just wanted to try to understand what the critique is saying... but something about the nose... it isn't so bad anymore... but still not perfect? Is that right?
